I hope someone has their fairing off right now and can check for me. I appreciate any help. Keith.

actually, they are all off at the moment. Let me go see if I can figure out what you are talking about.

Unless you mean the Foreman, this is the tabs on the top edge of the left side fairing.

this is the front tab on the point.

this is the two top tabs and there is also one that sorta points backward.

Ya...the tab where Rook has his hand(Up and back there)...that one is horizontal...and so is that rear one...it connects to the metal bracket attached to the frame on the subframe bar. Those two help hold the ram duct cover in place.

KAK, with plastic parts and crashing, the plastic at the spots you refer will bend as you say, but look close at those tabs. If you think they went the other way, they will look like the other tabs. If say this is a bent tab, then the surrounding tab area will turn white, have cracks.

If you see none of this, it still has the pain over it, then no, you had a senior moment, welcome to the club.

The only tabs above the directional are the ones shown in the top picture. It is actually one long tab across the whole length of the top and it has 3 widened spots on ut where the well nuts are mounted. The entire tab is angled to fit the inner surface of the top fairing. The rear widened spot curls upward a small amount to "roll" into place inside the top fairing but basically, the rear widened part of the tab matches the others. Sounds like you have a deformed part if we are talking about the same tabs.

Post a pic of our fairing and I can tell you if it is different than what I have.

OK. I must have left part of my brain out on that road. Very sorry for giving the wrong info.
It IS the middle left fairing, BUT the two tabs or "hooks" are actually at the bottom. The front tab points straight out but the rearward tab points outward at an obvious angle compared to the front tab. Looks kind of odd so I wanted to verify. Very stiff plastic so you could not force it straight like the other one without breaking it. When you line up the two tabs with your eye you can see how the rear tab points outward much more.
Really appreciate the help.

OMG, dude! That is the analest thing I have ever heard in my life ROFL, you are fine!

There are actually 2 hooks and I guess you'd say the little one on the front is a tab cuz the lower doesn't hang on it like the the other two.

How hard have you looked at these? I think you really need to get that bike back together and ride again!

3-M weather stripping. But a smear of 'amazing goop glue' is some nasty stuff. Workable stuff. Can't go wrong stuff universal.

What would you guys use to re-attach them?(fairing pads)

What ever you use, make sure you test it first. Wouldn't want to melt the foam pads with some solvent in the glue. I doubt you will be able to get those off intact. A heat gun may be the only thing that will sofetn the glue. Then super 77 spray adhesive to re-apply to new farings.

Actually, I would just forget about them and see how you like the bike without. I took every foam pad and heat shield out of my bike except the ones glued in the fairings (cuz they don't weigh anything and they aren't bothering anything.)

Glad we could illuminate that fairing tab concern you had. Hope you realize I was just kidding about your pickyness. I am the most picky person in the wold. I had to have my valves set at .006" and .008". Just couldn't live with another thousandth of an inch. Had to be dead on. LOL not even the serious drag racing people worry about that.

You're welcome, KAK. Let me say something about heat and plastic. Actually, I would not take anything but a razor to plastic. Zipeedee do sacrifice a kitchen knife. Take a dab of amg (a maze zinglue) along the one side of the razor. Lay it down on the knife tip, place in position. Make sure you understand the flip of the blade is now in an "L" cutting position.

This glue, you walk away for a day or two; to cure for this kind of work. This is now your, 'get in between the panel and foame-cut.' Your hacksaw tool in a tube. I told youniveralthough no one listens to turtle you, you anal heat gunner you!

Rook, that suspension vid has you in there. This guy is yelling not to be anal on the spring wind. It won't help; they had marks to line up and being off that tiny bit made sense. Relax the swing steer muscle there, Rook. Did I hear a bad habit rise to the surface on the heat me shield of plastic parts?

Rook? Bad boy! Go to youroom! No football games on TV... In fact, no ball games for 2 months! Okay, Dogo, serve up a plate for Rook... But no ball sports!

now that you mention it, Hub, that does sound like a bad idea but may be worth a try if you're going to toss out the old fairings anyway.

Was that no crapmeat, or mention ballsports I throw up? You mean a shrimp on the barb is any sea will do, or the only balls you think about are ceramics like me?

You could just do like we used to do....get a toothbrush and remove the bristles.Get the tip then burning to soften it up,and stick that single edge blade holder part right into that melted tip.Voila! No waiting for glue to dry!(I tried once taking those pads off...they wouldn't budge.Threw the whole shebang out).

OK. I know it might be difficult but I'll see what happens. Bikebandit has the foam stickies for around $4 and up. If I ruin them then at least I can get more.
