Thanks

I don't think too many people would have tried this.
Why do you want to do it? Purely for looks I hope. It will actually degrade the motorcycle's performance.
There is a lot more to it than just width, there is shape and profile etc. By putting a wider tyre on you will not increase the surface area of contact with the road. You will likely just make it harder and more dangerous to corner the bike. Thus why nobody ever does it.

Measure from your current tire to the closest solid component, whether it be the chain or swingarm, multiply by two, add the number to the first number of your current tire, and that is how much wider a tire you can fit.

As stated above a 200 will not increase your contact patch and will only translate into a taller tire. Increasing your rim width is the only route to a wider tire. Fitting a narrower tire on the rear will stretch the tire out and actually produce a wider and "square" profile. Shinko's hook-up drag radial has a very square profile if that's what your after.

Blown3UR if your doing track days it will give you more side tread area when leaned over, and faster turn in and help with side to side transitions, Used this size tire on my 06 zx10 track bike. but less contact patch in the center. It will also raise the rear of the bike about an 1/2 to 1 inch so reset up of suspension is a must in my opinion. If you have a rear hugger installed it will rub on it.
Now for daily street riding will work the same but you will wear out the center of the tire way faster than the
standard tire profile 195/50 or 195/55.

My thought here would be that you should go with the 200/50 over the 55. Speaking from a safety standpoint, the tire will already be taller since your cramming it on a rim that is narrower than intended, so going to a taller profile may be an issue. I think the moto gp tires are a 60 profile, but we all know that turn in needs as much help as it can get at 200mph. For street use I personally would only consider the 200/50.
