I am a big fan of naked bikes, I think with a few mods on the rear section maybe some platics to cover it (rear) with a cool tail light, new pipe and a few things, like a front fender... a naked 14 total sleeper, especially if you throw a turbo kit on there!!! Dude, I think I need to pick up a 2nd 14 and convert it into a naked monster!!!

I was not angered at all. I was not out $50. Someone calls one a "FOOL" or whatever the line was, I figure that person deserves to receive the same mud slinging right back times 10. You do remember I sat on the fence and stayed neutral. That is what I remember. Once the inappropriate slogan appeared, well... Does the bear chit in the woods? Does the chit hit the fan?

It was just classic "Signification" is all it was. "Yo momma wears combat boots." Well, "Yo momma is so fat.... She is so fat that..." And that's all it was. Any Bro from Chicago knows what the 'Sig' means, once the fan hits the poop. I was skooled the day I heard that term.

You gonna lie to me, that was not some funny sheet going on? Once the flag drops... Wezza gonna go racing lap after lap till the fat lady stops singing or someone goes to bed without dinner... Switch ever comes first.

Just because I entertained myself, does not mean one needs, 'anger management.' Imagine I'm out $50 bucks is you'll never hear the end of it. Oh, year gonna pay!

BTW, I stripped my bike to lighten it up as much as possible. I am not about to spend 2 grand on a set of pipes, when I can hold that money; then invest that portion toward the next world's fastest. I am no longer in the workforce. So, I do not have discretionary money to toss at the bike.

I had toggle switches hanging around. I bought some home depot house anchor bracket for a tail light hanger. I could care less how the bike looks. As long as it functions and is legal for the road... It's your sour jaw breaker looking at it and my eye candy with chronic heartburn I have to live with that thing.

So, do not think I made an attempt to make is some trendy 'naked' bike. You front the money, I'll show you some mean ass looking stripper you'd drool over. Mean is the name of the game and this bike is far from it. It's stripped so I can jackass it around with minimal damage to this old broken down body.

I have yet to see some Japanese bike look good. Mine is an improvement from stock. Their style is flat out stupid ugly since day one. They may make some choice engines, but to wrap a bike around it... Forkgetoebaoutit!

And to think they are 'proud' about their styling Q to set it in production? Q have got to be kidding me!

Japanese bikes have been getting a bit gimmicky looking in the past several years. Don't forget our forman fins. Yeah, yeah, laminar air flow - I know, yeah.. right. I get used to some of the visual aspects of the bikes that seem pure frills and then I can't see them looking any other way.

Boy...this may end up being a DANGEROUS topic afterall!!!!I couldn't disagree more-with either of ya! I think my big Ninja's styling is EXACTLY what it should be for what it is-a big, badass, bike eating predator!NOTHING can match the versatility this bike has.The lines are perfect for grabbing one's attention and sending the message"I'm NOT like the rest".I look at Harleys-nice,shiny,you know.Good for what they are(which is?).....Now my Ninja-it makes a real statement-I'm King-catch me if you can!Rockin at 180+....I can appreciate the styling. She just looks fast sitting there! It aint all "show"-she's built for speed, thrill, pushing the envelope. Now you want to talk gimmiky-what's that bike out of Korea-some sport bike line.Cheap-and they Look cheap. And a lot of other sport bikes-yeah,knockoffs is what they are.But the Big Ninja is truly a one of a kind.EVERYBODY-and I mean EVERYBODY that comments about my bike actually wants to know "what's up" with it.They're not goin"ooh and ahh" over it-they can see it's a thouroughbred.Different from the "others".I'm VERY proud of my Ninja-I LOVE what the designers did. It's an extension of myself in a lot of ways.Guess that's why I feel so good owning it.Yeah,I know-it's "just"metal,plastic,rubber-but it's way cool to get on it and dance through the canyons-open er up and breath fire.Awesome-just awesome for me.I can't see one thing on my Ninja that was an "afterthought".Well designed to rock the cycling world. As it has.No rolling couches for me.

I guess ya can tell I love my big sportbike.I've said it before-NEVER have I had just average folks going about their business-stop and admire this bird. From senior citizens on down to kids-one of the first things they say is-WOW-that's beautiful.Second thing-natch..."how fast will she go?" Most regular folks have never seen a bike package like this up close. They can tell it aint yer little crotch rocket deal. It's BIG,and sleek. And BLUE!!!When I start er up as I'm gettin ready to go,and someone's talkin with me-they're not overwhelmed with the rumble of the big inline four.Just a cool, deep purr-they'll be smilin and say somethin like-"have you gone that fast on her?"I'll just kinda blow it off and say"well, not around here anyway".They ALWAYS say-"beautiful bike there-be careful".Pretty cool when you realize these are mainly seniors enjoyin the eye candy!I think they're kinda taken aback when I pull my helmet off and they can see I aint no kid!!Thanks Kawasaki for the ride of my life!!!!

Above are two old classics that have lines that test the time. Below are the attempts at it... Without success I might add. You'd walk past these piles to look at the Duc and H-D. Don't get me started on a Yamahaha is pen that pile is not put my name on it.

I do think they've made altogether too much of a production out of the sportbikes since the late 1990s.

Think back to how the GP and Superbike bikes looked in the 90s. Then how they look today. And we wonder why, all across racing, companies are dropping out left and right? Irregardless of the economy, there is the relentless war to make the racing machines just a little more complicated every year, at a cost even in good times many old players in racing simply cannot afford any longer.

Think back to the early 90's ZX11 if any of you had one. I had one of the first from the Nebraska plant, hand assembled. It went like stink. JUST AS FAST AS MY 08 ZX14. About .4 slower in the 1/4 mile.

You could get the cowling off the ZX11 in 30 minutes, if you took a 10 minute smoke break during it. Tank came off easy too. Since then, they keep making them more unnecessarily complicated every year.

I've got my ZX14 naked now. Trying to decide how to hook up the new horns most recently. With a radiator guard, I'd ride it just like it is now, no problem. And it wasn't all that hard to get all the plastic off, but compared to the ZX11, it took forever.

Did you know Yvonne still races
No kidding! I know racing is very addicting. I'd love to go back out but the body is done for me. One false move and I may be wheelchair bound. I'll take my chances on the street instead.

I can tell you stories, Darryle, but I do not want to get Yvonne upset about his old buddy [if it gets back to him]. Here are a few little ones I can let you in on. See, back when Yvonne was running out of the Dale/Starr camp, Dale owned the rights to the Yoshi symbol. Poor Pop's had to go to court and get his own logo back. Dale used to fly for Tiger Air, stuff racing cams under his seat and not declare the... Kind of see the underhanded politics happening one risks in business? Ruthless was Dale.

Looking to get my foot "IN" with the racing fraternity, I sort of had a part time job with the race team. We were at Ontario race track one weekend; Yvonne was out in practice. Practice is over, I grab the stand, started running back to the pits. Yvonne stops the bike, picks me up. I jump on the back of the bike, hold Yvonne around the waste and that guy was made out of steel I tell ya. He must still be fit as any young jock out there I bet.

He was a strong guy to muscle that big wobbly Z-1 around. I saw him throw away the factory 2-stroke at Laguna one year. That ill handling thing spit him right off. I was so sad for the guy. Yvonne ranks high in my book. I doubt he'd know me from Adam.

I think I started road racing a little after that experience. Segway a little... I'm out at Riverside with my Suz (back-door sponsored) and here is Pop's and his hired gun. I heard one of the crew in Pop's pit was worried about me and that Riverside race. My main sponsor was out there and it was make or break that day for a second year of help. There were people waiting to talk to my sponsor, but I hung in there, came in 2nd, chasing Yoshimura. Got a 2nd year of help again.

Here is turn 9 damage and I'd say I was 100 yards behind, lap after lap. I could not catch up, nor did he gain any ground. I was pushing that bike as hard as the ground clearance would let me.

Trivia: I met Lang a long time ago when he came to the US for a few club races. I forget which track(s). He was a big name then. Nice guy.
http://www.motorcyclehalloffame.ca/hall_of_fame/class_of_2006/hindle_lang.html

More trivia: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9180236478333470656# If you can catch the number 16 with a white 1/4 faring; count the 8th bike at the beginning of the 1st lap. I started 18th. Pealed off 10 riders before the first lap. Moved up to 2nd O/A until my co-rider was too spooked to be slipping all over in the rain. I was more in my element. I think my co-rider rode for 45 minutes total and I and Ironman'd the rest. Scoring was all screwed so finished 14th O/A.
