My bike is starting to seem slow to me...

I go to the drag strip a couple of times a year and my numbers are good (low 9's and the mph is low 150s) these numbers are good so my bike is definitely not slow, but it just doesn't seem fast anymore. I'm starting to think that speed is like an addiction in that you are always chasing that first high and nothing seems to compare to it or maybe it's like balling a fine girl and after a couple of dozen times she does not appeal to you like she used to. Does anyone understand what I mean by this?

Yep, sure do. Speed becomes relative. Check oil level. The bike slowed down, could not figure it out? Saw the oil level was low. Low and behold it gained power back. I assume the bubble in the crank would help push the pistons.

Now that you mention it, I think a big part of the thrill for me is playing the odds on the danger. Going fast is fun but doing it on the street and not getting caught is more fun. It's kind of sick because I hate almost getting caught and i love it at the same time. Risky business.

If you found your limit at the drag strip, try LSR or road racing before you give up your speed addiction.

He's nowhere near the limit at the track. 8.60s are possible at his current wheelbase and weight.

I was just commenting to my riding buddy the other day that our bikes are still thrilling because our daily drivers are pickups and we only get time to ride every 2 weeks at best, more like once a month if lucky. When I have extended days off from the last blast, I guess my mind 'forgets' how fast the bike is, and so it seems a little shocking again each time.

You know, I do sort of get where you're coming from though, skewed. I mean, the bike used to scare the crap out of me all the time and now I sometimes marvel at how much farther I can push it without dying. It's pretty exciting to have all that power under control.
