2nd fan
02/19/10 8:14 AM

Got the HyperSport i in fan last night and it looks like a meaty little fan even tho it is not that little. Since the 14 is on the lift getting a set of stock links lenghtend so it will sit lower and will then be able to put the centerstand on that I will pull some plastis and the radiator to put this fan on. While the radiator is off I might see about having a fan bracket remade for the other factory fan that I have too.
The bike will still kick the fans on at a certain temp and kick off at a certain temp but hopefully it will let the cooldown be faster.
Will see soon.
Later == Bobby

Hi lytnin will you be removing the orig fan or are you adding to your original and having 2 fans. Will need to do this mod myself, I would run a relay to the second is that your plan.

If you run the second fan sold by Schnitz Racing (review here previously, or in the old forum) it can be wired into the primary fan if you want. Some have to increase the fuse to the next amperage but it won't even begin to tax the wiring if both are running in parallel.

I've got one, will be putting it on exactly that way next month.

I also just ordered two of Muzzy's aluminum fan blades, which I will remember to trim to the proper size first (lol).

That should just about solve the engine temp problems for most of my riding / sitting situations combined with 2 fans.

I still say coating the header is the best way to cool this big bad boy down

Ceramic coating of headers is without a doubt an improvement in keeping heat off the engine and rider. It also improves gas mileage and performance, too.

But, doing both (fans, ceramic) is even better.
