New ride...need shipping
05/24/14 8:42 PM

Purchased a orange and black 14r...bike is in and accessories being installed. Here's the catch...I live just north of Atlanta, GA and I purchased the bike from a dealer just outside of Detroit, Michigan....good deal, parts guy is a buddy of mine etc etc....

Now I need the bike shipped down here...lots of motorcycle transporters out there but I hate just picking a random carrier off of the internet....anyone have experience with any particular shipper?

Thanks in advance,

Troy

I used this company without a hitch. AMA uses this company to transport bikes on loan to the museum.

When I bought my Husky, the dealer used this place. No complaints.

Have you considered a fly-and-ride rather than shipping? Detroit to Atlanta is an easy one day ride.

I like the fly and ride idea for that distance. Spirit.com has cheap flights. I use many different shippers. Some I find on uship.com. Also I use Dedicated Vehicle Transport - Guy's name there is Chris. He's a broker. I tell him what I want shipped and what Im willing to pay and he posts on a network of shippers where they bid on the job. I would expect to pay about $400-$500 to have a bike shipped from GA to MI.

Fly and ride would be awesome, if you have the time.

Thanks for all the information. I found a guy that owns a small transport company that I am going to use....will let you know how it goes.

Fly and ride was my first thought but time is an issue for me during that time.

Thanks again,

Troy
