Wow, I thought the prices here in Canada were high. At those prices I'm not how one could ever afford it. It begs the Question, how much for bike insurance ?

Insurance is cheap(i have insurance trough the railway union) cost me 450,- usd a year. Full coverage..

New 2010 mod- ZX14 approx 41000USD
New 2010 mod- BMW K1300s approx 41000USD
New 2010 mod- BMW R1200GSA approx 36000USD
Theese are starter prices without any options..

Used 2005 Ford Mustang 4,6l/V8 approx 116500USD (not kidding)

One gallon of regular 95octane unleaded fuel approx 7,60USD

Prod. number 13 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Fastback approx 135500USD (probably the best investment of them all)

And UN still ranks Norway on top of the "highest standard of living in the world" list... Yeah right!!.. :0/

Die to stupid import restriction rules in Norway they dont allow street registration for bikes from the US. Only veteran bikes og historic importance and vehicles from before 2002 Are road legal. All bikes must be Approved by the eec to be road legal...
This is of course only to keep the markets separate and the profit higher.

Or Else i would for sure have imported mine from the US.. Although i would have to pay Norwegian insane taxes it would have been a lot cheaper than from any norwegian dealer. My 07 was imported from Germany and i saved approx 5500,- usd compared to the best price any norwegian dealer could give me....

In addition to the bike and vat. i had to pay 118000nkr/18100usd in taxes.. In Norway there Are specific tax for horsepower and engine volume....

One Word...... INSANE!!!!

Normally I would not ask, but I think it is only relevant. What do you do for a living and what's you annual sallary in good ole US dollars because I paid less for my bike plus modification than you paid in taxes.

No kidding. That's freaking crazy. I don't see how that's possible. I've got nearly $40,000 in my chopper... gpd only knows what that would've run over there. I've been to Sweden but not Norway. I think I'm glad I didn't make it over there.

NP bignib, im a prison officer in what in Norway goes as a hi sec. prison. Prisons in Norway are way different than in the US. Michael Moore made this litle clip showing an in fact true image of one of Norways prisons Norwegian prisons

Salary, approx 77' USD a year (thats before taxes, normal tax is approx 31% of income)

So the taxes are high but we do get a lot back, here is the full clip btw: Sicko Norway
