New to Kawi nation.

Hello Kawi Nation!

I have owned several sportbikes, most recently a 2008 CBR 1000 that I rode for a few years. I traded it in yesterday and got the 2010 ZX14 special edition.

I ordered the parts you see in my signature yesterday also and will have pics up next week.

If there is any 14 specific knowledge that I should know, please share!

Welcome, Killa.

You might hear some talk about fly removal mod. Don't worry too much about that on your 08-present bikes. Kaw has that pretty much perfected with OEM config.

I think the weight reduction mods are the ones that are going to be the best. The full system is going to make a big difference for you. A lithium battery will help with weight reduction. Light weight wheels, if you have the $$$.

Thanks alot for the welcome! The 14 handles alot better than I thought it would. The clowns at the dealership put armor all on the tires. I have been scrubbing them all morning.

I plan on getting the aluminum wheels for sure. I have read that the shorai lithium is the way to go
What are the cost on those batteries?

I got mine from Superbike Supply for 139 delivered.

My 14 amp cranks the same as the stocker (which is good IMO).

Most others went with the 18 amp which seems to turn the big engine over a lot faster but weighs almost 8 oz more (which may or may not matter to you depending on how fastidiously you are keeping track of weight).
