Tire FAIL
03/26/11 2:12 PM

Got my new michelin pilot powers in yesterday, took em up to the shop to get them mounted. Installed the rear, went to install the front... CAN'T FIND THE SPACERS!!

Looked for hours.. And i can't find these suckers anywhere.

Broke down and headed to the stealership and ordered a set.

Fail.

Of course you realize that this ensures you will find them in the pocket of your jacket the next time you wear it?

Reminds me of my keys I lost a couple months back.. I ran all over the house and outside looking for them. They were nowhere to be found---until I looked in my hand.

You did the right thing in buying new ones, that's the only way you can find the old ones.

I lost a brand new set of brake shoes like that once. It was a couple of years back. To this day I'm still looking. Gremlins in the garage me thinks. That kind of stuff makes me nuts.

Next time you shelf something for a while, loop a zipstrip through holes and put small parts in bags and tape and zipstrip everything to the big main part so everything stays together. After taking my GSXR's engine apart a few times I learned the value of organization. :)

Wouldn't it figure, new ones came in yesterday... Found the old ones today.

Same thing with one of my passenger pegs. Ordered one off ebay, found the old one a week later.

LOLLMAO!!!!Okay...WHERE WERE THEY?(at least ya won't need to get another set anytime soon!LOL!)

I'm laughing cause........I friggin did the SAME thing with a set of bearings I ordered like LAST YEAR.No,I didn't need to change em...just wanted to have a spare set here.Okay...so...I order a set of FRONT bearings just a month ago.I get em...life is good(they're for "just in case").While I'm thinking about my pretty new bearings...I remember...my OTHER set...for the rears.Ya...okay...so let me get those out and keep the two sets with each other.ya...sounds cool. Now I KNOW I didn't do anything with em when they came in(over a year ago)...just put the box up in my closet.Okay...ya...THAT'S the box...yep...Take that box down...look at the label...bearings?NOT.WTF?They GOTTA be.Jeez!..okay....the search is ON baby.Oh,I remember now...they're up on the shelf in my garage...right next to my oil drain pan.Whew...okay...life's good.I'm still not TOTALLY over this little deal.Go out to the garage...look up there.WTF?There aint no box up there.I KNOW it was there...Awe geez...so I start gettin like "kinda" upset...you know...gotta like shift my ignorance onto....THE STORE!!!!Ya...that's it.I never received em.Gotta be.Yep.

I goes online...look up my account info. There THEY ARE!....status...."unconfirmed"(for shipping)I knew it! Friggin never got em!There ya go Monty...yer not going koo koo.Get that tracking number for em there...go to the Fedex site.....enter that number....WOOOHOOOO...."no record of this item"...."see there?" I says.I KNEW I didn't get em.

Okay...NOW....I e-mail the parts house...tell em what I think is happening(or has happened).I'm nice about it...ya...

She e-mails me back..."Those items were shipped such and such".B.S I'm thinkin.Fine..they want to do this to their "valued customer?"...okay...I'm startin now to build up this big azz resentment...yep...been there, done that.Screw it....I go up again into my closet.Check that there box again...nope...it's not bearings.Sh*^!

Wonder what this little plastic baggie lookin stuff is on this bottom shelf here.Probably just my countershaft nut and washer I ordered as a spare.Ya...at least I know where THAT is.Pick er up to "just feel okay" again.WTF?

ya...you guessed it...my "lost,unshipped" bearing set(s).What a friggin idiot!!!!!

E-mailed her back..apologized for "not being able to find the shipment"...life is...well...shi$...I'm feeling like..."You friggin did it AGAIN!"

Went and blasted some canyons...slightly humbled(again) by my insistence that I'm FRIGGIN RIGHT about THIS ONE.LOL!!!

Aint life GRAND!!!!LOL!!!!(glad ya found em Slow!!!)LOL!

Notice how I went from "knowing" I got em,to "knowing I DIDN'T" get em.I'm as KOO KOO as a friggin Loon!

One of them was in my toolbox at work (not real sure how that happened) and the other was in the toolbox in my truck (not sure how THAT happened either?)

The passenger peg was right out in plain sight. Not sure how i missed it lol

Quick!! Before you lose them again!! Wire them together and hang 'em on the wall with other misc bike parts.......that's what I do, they still tend to hide out in the open but at least I find them together when I do find 'em!!
No worries, everyone's been where you are -- but remember......the older you get, the more this happens!!! LOL!!
