picking up new to me zx today.
08 low miles im very excited.
i currently ride a sweet 97 cbr1100 blackbird not a turtle by any means comfortable diecent handling but dated suspension and im so used to the horsepower the bike makes.
I was reading about the Flies in mapping keeping the bike from having low-end punch I guess I'll have to do a little bit more research get my soldering gun out screwdriver etcetera the bink does have a PC On it and some pipes will slip on pipes we'll have to see.

08! Good year!

The flies open response was brought to about 3200 rpm in 08. You will not have the problem of the 06-07 which didn't open until 6000 rpm. If you are on the gas a little you will feel your bike have a small surge at 3200 though. My 08 has has flies out for years. With a proper tune, you can smooth the surge out a bit but I'm not sure it can be eliminated altogether. You can flash to open flies at any rpm...or take them out and tune. Pretty much achieves the same either way. If you are sport riding, or racing, you probably won't be running at 3200 rpm much. It's nice to smooth out the bottom end as much as possible for street riding but it isn't going to slow you down when you need extra power.

Congrats on the new ZX! They're all sweet, I'm sure that BB is a great bike most likely this 14 will be better in about every way.

Thanks for the info Rook i did notice the surging at 3+ rpm kind of anoying when you're trying to be as gentle as possible and not dump the bike the first day you take it out because it's a little wet.

The problem i had with it was leaving a stop light and taking a fast RH turn. There were a few times I hit the flies open rpm while still in the corner and it was unnerving. That was with flies out and the map was supposedly for flies out. Neither the DJ map or the map from the tuner I bought the pipe from made much difference for flies out. AutoTune helped a lot. I still feel it if I'm on the gas hard but it's subtle.
