BT016 on sale
12/17/10 9:56 AM

Cycle gear has the BT016 as a set for $219.00 (120/17 190/50). Seems reasonable and I have read where some of you use them. I have been wanting try something else besides the 2CT's but I just ordered the 16T front sprocket and the 190/55 is not part of the promo. Not sure on shipping but they say over $69.00 shipping is free. The link is below and if you look in the (like utube) video window you will see the price. Happy Holiday!

Good deal on the 016s. Great tire. That's the one that finally cleaned my chicken strips off for me (at least on the right). I really like the 55 height but if you go through tires fast, you'll be able to get one later in the season.

Free shipping, you can't loose but your tire shop may be pissed at you for not buying from them and they will charge you up the butt for second party fee and disposal of old tires + they won't warranty the tires (which shouldn't be an issue if you got good ones but if you run over a nail????? maybe your shop covers that?). IMO, inet tires usually are not worth it or only margiunally worth it if you have a tire shop that does a great job mounting balancing revalving AND they have good prices on tires. JMHO. I bought my last set of tires (BT-003) from inet supplier because they had a great deal on a jacket and I need the extra $$$ on the order to get free shipping. But my shop was mad at me. Oh well. Things smooth out.

Thanks for the input Rook and Kruz. I haven't been out here for a while but I read where you used the 16's Kruz and obviously you both are a fan. Good to see you still here Kruz and hope your doing well. Still got my 06 and runs great except that I moved from Florida to Colorado(Flat verses twisty, I'm ok with that). That is why I am dropping a tooth in the front and thought that the 190/55 was the way to go. I sometimes change my tires myself and it really isn't that hard. It is a lot easier than a dirt bike tire and for the first time I used the Dyna Beads and had no issues. That is not a bad thought Rook, get the 55 later.

Thanks for that link Breeze, I may order a set of the -016s for my ZX-6R as a Christmas present. Rook likes the 55 profile in the rear on the 14, I haven't tried it yet but I'm sure it would sharpen up the steering.

My opinion is the -016s are very hard to beat, aftermarket version, not the OEM version that came stock on the R6 and ZX-10R. I especially like the more rounded profile than what Michelin uses, gives a more gradual, neutral turn in.

I had the same issue on my '06 in tight twisties until I pulled the flies out. When it would get tight it always seemed you were in the wrong gear due to zero low end. Pulling flies and remapping transforms an '06 on the low end, if you haven't done it yet I would definitely recommend that before a gearing change.

Good deal Breeze! At that price, even if you don't need 'em now, you saved big by pulling the trigger.
