She likes the cooler weather
09/23/12 5:01 PM

On a little ride today, I was cranked over on an Interstate-to-Interstate cloverleaf ramp. When I got to the merge lane, I dropped the hammer in 2nd (still cranked over) and the front came up a bit. Did a little dance upon touching down (STILL cranked over!) and proceeded to leave traffic in the dust. If it would only stay like this until next summer.(sigh)

Just a hundred miles north of you Danno. Never sure what is best for sport riding. Cool air might be good for extra power but I'm a lot more likely to hit it when the asphalt is hot. heheh...Yes I would take out current weather over what must inevitably come in the next twi months.

Springfield? Decatur? Jacksonville? If you get tired of the flatlands, there are some great roads within an hour miles of here.

The HP might be better. But my Roads tires don't like the cold.Sport tire in the front sport touring in the rear make a bad combination in the cold. When I fry that rear tire going back to full sport tires.Like when the stones stick to the tires.

I can't stand cold weather, hate winter with a passion! I prefer 80's and 90's hot weather. Low 60's this morning, :-(

I thought you meant 100 miles from here when you meant 100 mile from the border.

Used to ride up to Elkhart Lake every year for the races. Ate those head-sized omelets at The Highland House on the way. Also worked on the Byron Station Nuclear Power Plant just south of Rockford on the Rock River for several months during construction.

You do get a lot more grunt with cool air. Power wheelie come easy in 60 degrees weather
I rather be too hot than too cold. All that cold wind in the chest area makes you stiff, not ideal for steering. Plus I like the titanium blue my tires get after a 90 degree spirited ride.

lol That's one of the negative things in Florida!

Rook, Danno; Took a California Superbike class at Road America on my ZX11 back in '90. Went to races there 3-4 times a year. Great track!

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

Been jonesing to make it down to Barber for some races. The setting in the woods is similar to RA-plus, they've got that fantastic museum!

Several years ago, Road America was slated to be the setting for a MotoGP race, but sadly, it never came to be.
