WTF ! Are they serious ? $50 for a freaking paper air filter ? what a ripoff !

Sorry just had to rant some where .....

Yea, talking about the kawi paper filter, I don't mind paying for filters, but come on, $50 for a paper filter ?

Actually my local dealers price was $60 not including tax, and it wasn't even in stock ...

So what is our best option? K&N, BMC, other? A reusable filter seems like the best option just for the savings.

After 3 seconds of full throttle, everything else on the road becomes 'Oncoming Traffic'...

The only problem is that the stock filter seems to work best, I found a place that has free shipping and I happened to have a $15 coupon code, it was $30 after coupon, much better .....

Depends how much dust and dirt is flying through the air. Stock filter will do a much better job of filtering the fine particles out than a reusable. On top of that there is abosulty nothing to gain from aftermarket. My money is on that $60 a year of insurance I know that stock will provide.

Nasty your dead right mate the only thing ive found though is if you take the screen(spark arrester) out of the OEM they have more surface area to breath better with the same $60 a year insurance to boot

2006 CBR1100xx with a few mods + V Star 1300A Cobra swept exhaust,Fi2000 EFI,Big air kit, Rad cover/Guard,Forward controls/pegs,Pillion mini boards,screen,rack,Saddleman seat a few chrome bits.

Same here. Stock screen with spark arrester removed. Kn and bmc don't offer a filter for the 012 zx14. Only the 06-11. And they don't fit. Filters are different sizes

I can't believe I never thought to do that! Thanks for the tip, bean! I will have to give that a shot next time I put in a new filter.
