From time to time on this forum someone will report about going afoul of the local limitations on velocity.

It has been alluded to before in some commiserations, that it would be far worse than it is in the states in certain more programmed and regulated jurisdictions.

I submit for your consideration the tariff that holds the world record income redistribution to date:

Aren't you glad (number one) that you aren't extremely wealthy and (number two) living in Switzerland where your past history of rapide transit would have bankrupted you by now?

Do they even export ZX14's to Switzerland?

Nah! I wanna be able to pay the 1 million fine. I love Switzerland and could see myself living there. Just ride down to Germany when you wanna go fast. The country is really strict on driving/riding and back in the nineties you would get a hefty fine for littering (they probably still enforce that). On the other hand I hear their prison beats your best holiday inn so don't pay it and you still fine lol

I don't care how rich I was, for a million, i woulda run SO damn FAST I would have been out of swiss jurisdiction by nightfall.....and I wouldn't have stopped for anything short of missile fire which I already know they don't have.

Like I say....you only get a ticket if you stop and let them give it to you......

I wonder if they even chased him? At that speed, it is doubtful that many vehicles would be able to catch up. Maybe he came to the end of the road. hahaha Or maybe there was a helicopter or else maybe they just nailed him with one of those damn roadside camera station speed traps that are so popular in Europe (so I here).

then again, I stopped for a cop who lazared me from 3/4 mile away. 110 mph. If I was rich as the guy in question, and I lived in Sweden I would have paid $600,000.

To me having a felony on my record for evading arrest would be not so much worse than the million dollar fine. I suppose this guy didn't have time to consider that. He decided to do what he felt was right. Goes to show, if you are going to go fast, you really need to plan for it and also accept that you might get busted. Maybe he did all of that and running was out of his stress zone.

In the Northern Territory i've just read the Government has decided to abolish speed limits on a 200kmph section of the Stuart Hwy! for a year trial! might go check it out this Easter long weekend!

Too right their Rook some common sense in the NT ! it used to be that way their a few years back but had a posted 130kmph and the road toll went up! people more busy lookin at their speedo's instead of the ROAD !
