SUP GUYS!... Probelms with gen 2?
10/29/10 12:10 PM

Hey guys. Long time no talk. Hope everyone has been well!

I'm finally ready to pull the trigger and put another Big Ninja in the stable. I found a leftover '08... yes '08, WTF!... at a price that is pretty hard to pass up.

Anyhow, I was browsing the classifieds on here, and saw that there's a guy parting out an '08 due to a spun bearing. First I'd heard of this happening on a street ridden gen 2. Anyone heard of any other incidents??? Don't want to give y'all a repeat performance.

Any other problems or recalls come to light since I've been gone?

The only other recall that has been issued is for you to return to the club

Thanks Steven.

Actually, I just put a deposit on the bike and I am taking a road trip tomorrow to pay for it. 6 1/2 hours... each way! Yes, it's that good of a deal. As it should be for a 3 year old bike still sitting on the showroom floor.
I'm super stoked! Tried to get my GF and even my mom to talk me outta the purchase, but instead both of them just talked me into it. I'm a lucky SOB to have such cool women in my life!

Hey Dogo! Thought I left a message for you here on the thread earlier this week. Guess I must have forgotten toi hit "reply". Very good to hear from you again. The new purchase is exciting. I saw at least one G2 riding along with dealer plate last summer. Saw several others. Actually seems to be becoming a lot more common than it was a few years ago.

Good luck. Get a nice deal.

25,000 miles on my G2 and still going strong. Haven't heard of any kablooskies on a G2.

SECRET TIP: The Midnight Saphire Blue is the fastest color ever made.

Shoot, Rook. Wish you woulda said somethin' sooner. Gonna just have to work that much harder to make this silver one faster than any Midnight Saphire one out there.

$7500 Gonna be a long winter staring at, yet never riding, this thing!

$7500

I was going to ask is that OTD or retail but at that low of a price, tax and prep seem pretty irrelavent.

Awesome bike Dogo.

Retail. No prep or destination fees. Just had to pay the sales tax, license, and title fees. $8327.75 OTD. Plus I'm paying another $125 to have it delivered. The dealership is 400 miles away, and on the other side of the Cascade Mountains, so the extra $125 is way less than it woulda cost me to take my truck and traler.

Things have been really good around the Dogo Den, Hub. Been itchin', BIG TIME, for another 14. But the timing just hadn't been right until now. WA DOL has had me by the nutz! One more traphic ticket = no license! Fortunately, that expires in March 2011. I've spent the Spring, Summer, and Fall playing on the lake and Jeepin' up in the hills. Been fun, but I'm Jonesin' for another epic year of rides on a Big Ninja.

Stuck with huh, Hoopie? Musta been a deal like mine. Too good to worry about the color. '09 Green is still my favorite, but not for how much more $$$ it woulda cost me to put one of those in the stable.

I really do not think you can get 'stuck' with a color. I just walked in and said bike in a box I have cash. You want RED? Look in the rear view mirror. You want blue? WOT the throttle, you'll turn blue catching breath someplace back there. You want green? Look off to the side are the trees and grass is ass is one {color is WOT}?

You want white? White knuckle ride. Thought about that too late. That stick man color is TEA 2 A. Only because it Smokes Color. Kawi smokes the Big3 in color, IMO. You need to see that color up close.

I think what you're sayin', Hub, is that the 14 looks good an any color (my hubbish is a bit rusty). I gotta agree.

Think I'm gonna do black lowers and wheels on the Silver one. Not as much for looks as practicality, though. I already know with my big arse compressing the suspension, in the twisties, the lowers are gonna drag and show the black plastic underneath the paint. And my old 9r had silver wheels... PITA to keep looking clean!

Hey Hoopie,
As I was buffing some scratches outta my black car today, I think I figured out your love/hate relationship with the Midnight Saphire! Can't hardly look at it without putting a light scratch or scuff on it, huh?

The silver is great too. Looks so cool with flat black accents.

PERFECT!!
