Anyone know of a good radar mount for the 09' ZX14. I have a escort 9500i and thinking of getting the new redline. Any suggestions?

hey,,,I have an escort 9500i and made a custom mount system that fits over the gauge cluster using the top nut that holes the hauge cluster into its bracket.

Basically I bought a piece of semi think sheet metal plate the width of the radar detector and simply cut and bent it and wala,,from there you have choices,,,either glue or double side tape it down or from tech mount I hade a large plastic piece that fits over there mounts I think its from a gps mount kit,,anyway,,I used this piece and my exisiting metal custom piece so they work hand in hand,,

My thoughts on tech mount,,,the radar detector mounts to far in front of you and not over the gauges,,so seeing it work is not easy,,

The best mount is over the gauge cluster behind the wind screen,,..

Also,,the 9500i detector may get wet if not mounted behind the screen and above the gauge cluster,,so this is why I dont like mounting any electronics over the steering stem.,.,IMO

Another Techmount fan. Solid as a rock with my 9500IX. I can see it on the stem-mount but seeing the device is not important...SOUND is when it comes to "alerts/threats". I run the 9500IX through a mixer along with my ER6Is and MP3 player. If it looks like rain...a simple Ziplock bag is the cure.

I like the idea of not covering up the gauges. I have an idea using the screws from the windscreen to fab a mount... see if I can make something.

I just bought some heavy duty Velcro and mounted it to the top of the dash. With the suction cups and Velcro its very stable.
