I was thinking about a few mods for my new Black 14R SE. My black 07 got some Clear Alternatives tinted turn signals, and VHT Night Shades paint and a few coats of clear acrylic over the top on the OEM tail light. The tail light turned out a little dark though, because the rattle cans are little clumsy. You can't get a really fine mist with them.
I hear the factory lights are better quality then others being offered. I was thinking about trying to tint my OEM lenses to get just the right amount of tint, and some clear coat over the top.
My question is this: I was thinking about just applying a coat of plastic primer, adding a little black acrylic lacquer to some clear coat to tint it and spraying them with my touch-up spray guns and compressor to get just the right amount of tint. Then applying a couple of coats of clear over the top to seal it. Has anyone ever tried this? Any thoughts, problems or advice?
I even thought about doing it to the inside of the OEM screen
