Re-dyno'd the bike tonight
08/24/11 10:27 PM

I put up a post about the sb6 ignition that will explain some.

Previously, the bike made 174 hp.

Here were the changes:
-I put a brock's map in. We actually tweaked the map some here and there, and ended up making the most power with the brock's map. So we put it back in.
-I changed the timing from +6* advance to +1* advance.
-I cleaned and lubed my chain (non o-ring.. it makes a difference)
-No air filter this time around

Some very slight changes. Nothing that cost any money.

Bike made 185 rwhp with the baffle in, and 186 with the baffle out (not enough difference to justify leaving it out)

This was on pump gas. I'm interested to see whats going to happen when i get a chance to TUNE the timing, and put some race gas in it. Will it break 200?? Probably not... But we can always hope!

I will bet on 194 which is close enough. Good job!

Nice! You always have sweet running bikes. :)

I leave work today at 3pm and go home to get my bike. Then ride over to the dyno, and around 4:30 we'll have it on the dyno.

Going to use Bad's instructions on how to hook up to get ignition timing.

And send the PDF of the printout to BG so he can post it.

It will be for: 89 octane pump gas, Pipercross Street air filter, Mid-Range velocity stacks, PC3 with Jeffo's map for 500 feet elevation (at about 600 feet - when I was at Mt. Snow VT I ran it above 6,000 feet and it still ran great), and of course Brock's CT-Dual exhaust system, ceramic coated.

So pretty much a stock engine.

But right now we've got a huge thunderstorm going on and the rain is coming down in sheets. If it clears up, fine, but I'm rescheduling if this rain keeps up. Heh.

HI Privateer

I can't find those instructions from Bad you mention... Can you send a link?

Thanks

THEY can plug the rpm sensor from dyno onto the ECU if you know which wire it is .. but really all you got to pull is a george foreman grill off the bike so they can get to a plug wire .. the clip does not damage the wire coating..

on the smaller plug of the ECU #1 is W/R and #4 is W/Y

My first build was basically the same setup, on mrx01 it made 194.. So i'd be happy with that.

I ported this head myself this time, however.. If it makes more then 194 on mrx01 this time, i'm going to be ecstatic. It's nice to see something you did yourself make good gains.
