Yeah, it's nice have the rail too i guess, hell no im putting it on for just a 30 minute trip with my girl or something.... maybe ill do it once, and scare her so i don't have that problem anymore to worry about. HE HE!!

If I scare my wife, when she's on back, she just jabs me in the ribs. She got me to buy a Corbin seat with a passenger back rest. I usually have the stock seat with the rear cowel on and when she wants to come I switch seats. Costs a lot but I wouldn't like putting the cowel on and off all the time. I kinda wish I had never told her it came off.

ps I have been watching the huge price differential between North America and the rest of the world for many models of motorycles, including the ZX 14. For example, there are presently operations in the U.K. taking deposits on pre-orders of bikes to then be purchased in North America and then shipped in bulk from North America to the U.K. Looks like a possible business opportunity as long as the currency differential continues as is....

I agree on the big differences, but don't forget about the costs coming with it though, not sure how much profit u'd be having in the end. prolly 1.000 euro's for each bike or so .... not bad actually :D

Found a good site for GERMANY (our neightbours) - Check out www.mobile.de and search on ZZR14 - theres like 13 bikes on there, like two times as much as much as we have here, and the prices aren't too horrible eighter..

I just bought a 2006 with 16k on it for $6100.00. It came with both the rear cowl and optional grab rail. Is this standard for the 2006 only?

^^Far as I know, the grab rail isn't standard on any year unless it's a ZZR. The ZZR has always had the rail but never the cowl.

i bought my 07 se with 5 year warranty for $9700 two years ago xmas eve. they threw in the engine knock for free.

Here's where I bought my 14 back in 06 and my ZX-10R two weeks ago. You'd pay the out of state price Matsuke. These are the everyday prices, you walk in, this is what you pay no dickering. Texas prices are higher than elsewhere I think, not sure why.

Just paid $9535 for a new Atomic Silver 2008. Bought additional 3 years warranty for $670.

$7,500 for a new 2008. Dealer had purchased 2 that had damage. The bike I got had small scraches on the bars and that was it ,took me 1 hour to repair. Love this bike !!!!

First off I want to say Happy New Year to you all. I have been lurking on this forum for a few weeks now and have recieved a lot of insight on this wonderful machine we all seem drawn to. Well as this is my first post I just wanted to say I have a 2010 SE on order that was 13300 OTD for me here. It would have been great to get a 08 or 09 model but I am here stationed here in Germany and hard to get American Spec bikes over here so I figured why not get the latest and greatest since I would have to wait til March anyway. Well in a few short months I will post pics. Thanks for your time.

Hey guys you are right about the mounting spot, but with the grab-rail also you'll need the special tail piece that gose with the rail it is shorter than the no grab-rail piece however all you would need to do to put the cowl over the rear is to remove the grab-rail and the cover covers the lil tail piece if i where you and wanted both get the bike that has the grab-rail as it is hard to find cheep and you get the short tail piece and you can find tail cowling for cheep well fairly cheep on e-bay I love the look of my tail cowl but the fit and finish are not the greatest cheeply done by KAWI if you ask me hope that helps ya ...xxx's

^^Ya. One of the aspects of the 14 that is not up to expected quality standards. Put some thicker pieces of foam weather stripping on the tail fairings under the brackets that mount to the bottom of the seat and that will take care of the rattle.

I drove from North Carolina to Kentucky to purchase my 08 for $9400 OTD because my local dealer wanted $11k plus for the same bike.

just payed 10,500 for my 09 limited edition (holdover)

Got my 09 with 2600 miles on it for $8000.00.

I paid $8750 otd for an 06 in 08. The bike was built out of the crate the day I bought it.
