Hyperpro on my '13 14R w/ABS- no fitment issues (my Devil adjuster clears by about 2mm;)).

Well...I went for a nice 300 miler...open roads...some high speed cornering and accelerating(s).Had No idea what to expect from this damper.I chose a firmer setting...this one has progressive damping...so the 'final' setting with the bike not moving is 'firmish'...but not real restrictive.
I've never had a bike with a damper on it...I was a bit skeptical.HOWEVER...this deal here blew me away...honestly.My bike has never felt so planted or stable ever.It didn't matter how fast I was moving...in the curves and such. She held solid.I was able to make my apex and curve corrections easily...yet the bike never once acted like it was skittish.I can't really explain how it makes the bike feel really. It's NOT intrusive...but the front just stays where ya put it....straights,cracks,tarsnakes...the chassis doesn't have that wallow wiggle feel anymore. And I've got my suspension set right for those conditions. This add-on is the icing on the cake.
I was most impressed with the power-up to pass characteristics.Downshifting and throttling up hard...she just stays right there...no weird wiggling.I was able to actually power up harder and faster and stay tucked while shifting up and around. It did not feel as before...kind of....light feeling...and a shade 'wiggly'.It almost doesn't even feel like the same frontend...seriously.It's still light to the touch...but when the input is increased...it holds rock steady....I can see now WHY guys swear by these dampers.I'd have to say...for modding...THIS is a must-have on your 14.Amazing the change in control.Power wheelies...rock firm straightway. In any gear or RPM combo.NO wiggle whatsoever....I'm very glad I got this deal.Makes handling this big fast ship much more enjoyable...if that's possible.Full on thumbs up with this mod;)If you've never done this deal...I say go for it....the handling feel is just incredible.

Perfect! You only need to NOT tighten the mounting bolts up first....(the ones attaching the plates(in the mounting bracket) and the ones that attach to the chassis). You keep those somewhat loose till you get those two chassis bolts back in...then tighten everything there up...then it's all downhill from there...PLENTY of needed room for everything.Went very well....works great;)
There is a small washer that goes behind the right side chassis bolt...leave that out on the ABS...(behind the brake line bracket). They supply the two bolts to 'replace' the factory ones already there(on the right side brake line bracket and the left side Clutch line holder wire).I just reused the factory ones....worked just fine.Red locktighted a teensy bit on all the bolt tips....not much...just a bit.Very happy with this mod...well worth the wait IMO.
"I feel the ZX14 is rock stable w/out one"...so did I until I put this on there...what a difference...honestly.Just ordinary riding...it's very noticeable as she rolls down the road...very....nicely.

You know how you can be cruising along...and the bike kind of 'meanders' with the faults and road crown and such.Thing of the past now...she's solidly steady turning or cruising....I'm way stoked as you can tell;)Actually feels like the suspension up front has been 'upgraded' somehow...very very smooth and stable.
When I was lofting some power wheelies...the first thing I noticed was...the stablity of the chassis when I was launching up and returning down.Solid straight attitude...no bar movement at all....The bike actually FELT solid...landing...all of it.The bars stayed put...so I was able to fully concentrate on the lift and the throttle inputs.Made the lift much smoother. When she touched down many mph faster...she ran perfectly straight...no drama at all...

To the best of my knowledge the ZX14 has never came from the factory with a steering damper.
I like your damper Grn. Looks good! I hope to get one this winter.

I would guess you would need to have your suspension kinda set up for how you ride and at what speeds and such...and tires would also play a factor as to how well it will work. You can only push so much.If other things aren't right...the damper isn't gona be the end all to other issues. You should get one.Compliments the whole rideability IMO.

I think you're gonna really like it.As opposed to the 'lighter steering zx14R"...it gives a very nice feel of control..kinda opposite what the factory engineered...but it will stabilize that nimble frontend;)Less work cornering,I'll say that.
It MAY not be so needed if you're doing sharp twisty stuff...course,you can always dial it back...

Late to the party, but congrats Grn.....I opted for the GPR V4 last year and agree how they completely take out all the tiny, varying, inputs from me and the road surfaces. Really does help smooth out transitions between turns, and helps keep the bike in line when slight corrections in body position are needed too. I never had a headshake issue other than when the front lightened up under power, but still glad to have one for peace of mind and it instills that much more confidence in my machine.

Hi All,
It seems like most feedback on the steering damper threads orientates towards the Hyperpro.
And now that it comes in titanium with the graphics etched rather than stickered makes it look so much sharper IMO.
But no one has said too much on the settings they are using?
Rook mentioned he was using a pretty high setting.
With the Hyperpro's progresive dampering, anyone care to advise what settings they are using and whether they set and forget, or how much they adjust to suit requirements?
P.S.
Grn14 seems particularly taken with this mod!

LOL!!!...my settings vary depending on where I'm at and how fast I intend to go.I change it all the time while riding.I started off at full damping...minus two clicks.(as the manual recommends to not damage the internals). The full damping is not the regular riding setting...unless I'm going into some fast curves(I don't mean twisties).I THINK..but not positive here...that the highest damping adjustment applies MORE damping for ENTERING a potential problem...rather than entering a problem and THEN reacting to it(the damper).Lower settings allow the frontend to be freed up,so movement will be 'more'...yet the quick abrupt damping ability will still be in play. That force MAY be constant regardless of setting.I turn it almost all the way down when I'm tooling in traffic or running in some tighter stuff. The frontend needs to move some.U-Turns and such are a bit more 'technical' if it's cranked up.It does really work great.
