I think Sebastian makes a good point as to why they altered (dumbed down) the street version so much; reliability for street use/ less maintenance

Thst track version must be as expensive to "ride" as a supermodel. Lol

At over 300bhp/litre that puts the H2R in a similar state of tune to current F1 car engines, hence the more intensive maintenance schedule. Reliability is certainly attainable but I would guess you neglect the schedule at you peril. JMO

Cblast good point about the heat issue on high boost Kawasaki really didn't give adequate heat dissipation to the setup probably because of space constraints. They claim the aluminum housing and secondary injectors are to help cooling and I am not sure of the purpose of the screen on top of the throttle body. Perhaps alternate fuels like E85 for racing but not so much for the street. As far as the bike needing maintenance for every 15 hours of riding for the H2R that is a bit of a misquote it actually reads

service inspections are required every 15 hours of engine operation above 8,000r/min (rpm)
. If the H2R makes 50 more horsepower at 8K rpms then it is generating much more heat than the H2 will ever encounter so that service requirement should be even more extended. Even if the H2 is modded for 100% throttle at high rpms most only spend only a few seconds at those rpms considering the speeds attained in a small amount of time. A safe power increase of say 25% to 250 hp should satisfy most. I think that would work for me really as that is a bunch of power.

Bikes to get this year. Wolf's list
1) 1299 Ducati Panagale
2) bmw 1000rr
3) h2 street
4) Yamaha 2015 rm1

My preferred choice. Street legal h2R with a face lift. Alas I'm not in charge at mother Kaw.

When you ride one you will see, above 8000 is almost start to finish of the ride. Like the worst speed freak kwak addict addiction that boost. You wont ever BE below 8000.

You can feel the mass compared to a literbike, but it is well located, the H2 is a very good handling bike, the suspension is plush and absorbs bumps well. Excellent high speed stability and feels very planted driving off of corners. Suspension is top shelf!

You buy the R1 with your head Wolf, the 1299 you buy with your heart. You'd get a woodie every time you opened the garage door and saw that Panigale but the R1 is going to be the machine for laying down hot laps on a track I think.

^^Tarue dat
The other girls will not welcome the Duck. The 14r is still. Jealous of the 12r. Now with a Duck, that's trouble. I had a friend of a friend buy a ktm 1290sduke. He paid some good money for it. I just thought to myself if I had 25000k lying around what would I do. I'd buy the Duck. I prefer the heart to the head.

Oh if I only had a Panigale the pinnacle of motorcycling. I saw a dyno chart of one and it had a large power dip right at mid range. What good is that? And in Ducati tradition the high cost of purchase is only the beginning of high cost of ownership. They are a lot like Harlys the list of must have add on's is long and expensive. If I only had a Ducati woe is me life sucks.

The R1M is going to be the bike to own, 1299 is beautiful but hard to live with, on track the new Yamaha has the stuff!

the Panigale the pinnacle of motorcycling

Knowkaw according to whom?

Consider this, and removing my own admiration for our Italian brethren.
If I pull up on my 1299 and park next to your H2 everyone will flock to look at the H2! Yeah right.

How many Ducks have you owned? I'll tell u my number 0. Beautiful bike, lots to offer a street hooligan. The engine is a 1299 this year. Hp 205 and 179lbs. Brembo, olhins and Marshesini rims. Many folks on here have anointed their 14s with such delicacies. If the chart is a 2015 (I doubt it) any good tune can smooth out a flat spot. A Harley before mods is a relic, a 1299 before mods is a thing of art. You comparison is a bit...stupid?! Time to shut the pie hole sir?

That said you are entitled to your own opinion. And welcomed for stating it. I just don't agree. The beauty is, you and I can pursue whatever bike we want. How wrong or right? The decisive decision maker is our own tastes. Which returning to a Harley reference is why they are still in business.

My wish list starts with the 14r. But I can admire other bikes too. No apologies but the H2 is not one.

GOT 99 PROBLEMS BUT AN H2 AIN'T ONE!

Kruz being a man with an appetite for beautiful things, I will assume the RM1 and the 1299 will make it to your stable before it makes mine.

I can see the appeal of the Jay Leno Garage. Just can't bank roll it yet. Lol

Yes some very beautiful steeds.

I must have missed it, what is the R1M peak numbers? The curve looks midrange up weighted, very smooth and linear once it comes on.
