"Video files: .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv"....still think it's operator error?.
"mpg,mpeg,mp4 same thing
convert the AVI video to FLV flash video
use a video converter to do it"

Either that or your win98 is your software. When that pops up, keep choosing one, try it, load it, try again. Eventually, one is going to be accepted on line [is how I figured it out]. I think if you chose the, "choose .wmv on my computer for best viewing" or something like that? Then, go on line, search what the downloaders accept as far as, 'we only use, .mpeg, .avi, and .mpv2 for our..." then at least you can switch to that program.

Then, do this. Take your drive card, send it in appropriate slot. Either a program comes on, or you go to, 'my computer' find the letter slots. I think G might be where that file card goes. So, you go to utube, bring up the file in the G-slot, drag and drop the file into utb's browser.

At the very top of your browser, there is a blue line across the top. Double click that. Hold down on the blue line to drag it across the desktop. There is this second trick. You take the file program of your camera, drag and drop that to your desktop from the G program, forgo drag/dropping it onto utb's browser.

With your program dragged onto your desktop, you now double click the blue line, drag the shrunk browser away from the program file. Figure out how you can drag and drop onto tube at least two ways I just explained if you followed it. Double click the blue line to expand the browser or click the full page at the top right.

Kind of see how you tag team the windows 3 ways? Third way is keyboard keys only. Try those keystrokes/mouse droppings... Cheeze Is IDK!

Oh yeah, grn... If you qualify for the 15 minutes past kind of, you can now go to their own cutting program and edit there. I don't know if it offers that with the 10 minutes or less group I used to be in.

My first try is call tech at gpro. I'm sitting back waiting to see if apple can cut this pro up. I'll get an apple lapper for the gpro. But if it takes xp, or I don't think MvMr changed from win98 to xp? I have early or late xp that means they both match updates so both run as one I would assume?

So, do you have automatic load my updates from window? Are you all updated? You know how to get to all your running downloads when she starts up and running to find out what came in [behind the scenes]?

I had a turnip truck sticky on my monitor that said, 'use AVI'... That just reminded me of it.

Conneaut14,If you have a 12V lighter socket installed on your bike then all one would need is an adapter for a USB device.
Lot's of those available.

GRN14, what type of media are the Gopro using to be able to record up to 366 GB? Are you connecting it directly to a portable HD?
Max I believe I can store on my contour is 32Gb, maybe 64GB on micro sd cards.

hey grn don't buy anything over 32g go pro only supports up to 32g heres the specs

What size and type of memory card does the camera take?
The HD HERO camera supports SD/SDHC cards up to 32GB (any SD card over 2GB is considered a SDHC card). We recommend name brand SDHC cards, such as SanDisk, with a class 4 rating or higher.
How much recording time do you get?
Recording time will vary according to the resolution setting used and the card capacity. Here are the average recording storage times for a 32GB SD card: 1080p (30 fps): 4h 21m 960p (30 fps): 5h 26m 720p (60 fps): 4h 21 720p (30 fps): 8h 09m WVGA (60 fps): 8h 09m
What is the picture resolution?
The camera captures 5 megapixel digital images.
What is the video resolution?
You have five different video resolution options: 1080p = 1920×1080 pixels (16:9) 960p = 1280×960 pixels (4:3) 720p = 1280×720 pixels (16:9) 720p = 1280×720 pixels (16:9) WVGA = 848×480 pixels (16:9).

Don't go cheap when buying these sd cards Ive found with my jvc cheap cards equals shitty quality make sure your buying class 10 cards for the best video quality

I don't know what to tell you, but, movie maker converts it to wmv automatically when imported.

On the memory card get a class 4 minimum, but, I've had iffy luck with them. Get a GOOD class 10 card, they are expensive but worth it!

For the past two years I've been using Cyberlink Power Director to edit movies and upload them to Youtube. I've tried Windows Movie Maker in the past but it was too frustrating to use. You can try to download Cyberlink for a 30 day trial and see if it works for you. Here is a link for all the video editors available.
http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

I also use this free program to convert to different formats:
http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/

I am planning to buy GoPro Hero this weekend and learn how to use it before I get my ZX-14. Hopefully soon I'll be sharing a few video clips.

Gopro who? Watch the 3 videos. If that is a $70 pair of glasses, it will put a dent into gpro.

Is it possible to charge the go pro while it's mounted on the bike?

It charges by USB when hooked to your computer.

If you check online, I think you will find that there is a bike battery to cam wire sold as an accessory to either the GoPro or the Contour.

Personally I think having an extra battery or two on hand is all you need. I don't ever run the thing continuously. No way am I gonna sift through 45 minutes of footage for something good that might have happened. It's usually more turn the cam on for 5 minutes at a time during some good riding and then turn off when things go back to normal.

I can go 200 miles on one battery. I have a larger memory card but I never fill it up.

Yes, but, you'll have to cut a whole in the side of the cameras outer housing. If you have a 12v outlet on your bike it's pretty simple.

I used the TechMount steering stem mount and had a hell of time pulling it out. I sprayed silicone on it before installing to hopefully help it go in and out. It has always been more than tight enough. It never has turned in the stem. I don't know if the silicone made the o rings swell or if water got in there...?? Or maybe leaving it in for 2-3 weeks was too long..

I pulled so hard I loosened the allen screws. Had to tighten them up. That means the metal or the threads actually stretched a little from me pulling. When i got it out it had liquid on it. I guess that was the silicone.

I would recommend taking that thing out immediately if you are not going to leave it on the bike indefinitely.

That is what I did, bought a set of two extra batteries and a charger. Comes with a cigarette lighter charger and the european electrical plug adapter.

I don't ever run the thing continuously.

Me either. With just one battery (and using the LCD BacPac) I recorded 29 mini video clips this weekend.

3.66 GB's That's what it was...at least where she's stopped at several times.IDK WHY she stopped at that point.

Maybe it is the card? I use a 16GB SanDisk. The 8 GB I had was not enough. If I recall, the 16 GB fills up pretty close to the same time the battery runs out.

3.66 GB is a pretty small amount of film, isn't it?

My home made GoPRo mount. It looks like it sticks out far, but its only about 3 inchs out further than the mirror. And with my peg hitting the ground, it still has about 8-10inch of ground clearance.

The mount I posted pictures of is my 2nd attempt. The first one I made was about 10 inchs longer. It stuck WAY out there. I tested it out, and it looked good, but it seemed dangerous, so I cut the pole down shorter.

This is how I made it the first time, its about 10 inchs longer:

Video test of the Long Arm(Im also slammed in the video)Love the angle, but it seemed dangerous.

This is a quick video of testing out the Short Arm(current version)Im also back up at stock height in this video.
Sorry, my mounting bolt was loose, and rattling a little.
