http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/kawasaki-ninja-h2-uk-price-and-final-specs-confirmed/25888.html

H2 ~ 22,000 pound sterling = $34,553.09 + tax.
H2R ~ 41,000 ps = $64,394.39 + tax.

Only in my dreams, Grn. I'm a 15k cap kind of too rich for my blood at that price. I'm sticking with the 14 for now.

Peak HP of 197 and 98 ft lbs of torque

The difference in the R and street version is over 100HP?

"The difference in the R and street version is over 100HP?"...well...not exactly. That 197 was graphed at 10K I believe...well below the redline.Course...no one has seen any dynos yet...I mean(some have)...they've probably been asked by Kawasaki to keep the numbers....under wraps for now.No need to stir the hornet's nest of the Law Enforcement community just yet;)It's been reported 210 HP on the H2...but that I think is ONLY a tease..not that it didn't hit that.I would 'guess'...it's most likely somewhat higher than that...

That's bone stock, no mods. When I hear that kind of talk, you should measure my dick before you blurt out the price... before it goes limp.

Kawasaki (UK) quotes 326bhp@14000 with "ram air assist" for the R.
The Street H2 is not quite so impressive though.
Here's a few numbers, all power figures quoted with ram air assistance:

H2R 326bhp@14000rpm 165nm@12500rpm curb weight 216kg

H2 210bhp@11000 133nm@10500 curb weight 238kg

ZX10R 210bhp@13000 112nm@11500 curb weight 198kg(201 ABS)

ZZR1400/ZX14R 210bhp@10000 162nm@7500 curb weight 268kg

No doubting the 2R will be an absolute missile in a straight line (with launch aids no doubt!) but I'm left wondering why, compared to the 2R, the street version has been 'castrated' to the extent that it appears to have been. Same power as a 10R, more max torque but an extra 30kg. The torque figure for the H2R just pips the torque monster 14 but at 5k further up the rev range. Max torque at 7500rpm, now this is where you really notice it on the street. The street H2 is some 30kg lighter than the 14 but the max torque is a long way off, even at the higher 10000rpm. JMO

The changing exhaust on the H2 exhaust will almost even out the weight dif between it and the H2R. If there's that big a dif in power between the H2 and the H2R, there must be a LOT that can be extracted from the H2. I'm guessing it will have to benefit much more from a flash and pipe than a 14 or ZX-10. If not, like you said, what would be the point?

Rook you nailed it. I've heard that the H2 is much more than they are saying. Especially when they are saying 210 @ 11,000 rpms. That girl revs to 14,000 red line. It's a BS gentleman's agreement..... She's gonna put down 250 to 265 with a pipe n tune all day long....

"It's a BS gentleman's agreement"...hell yeah it is...the idea of limiting this bike is ridiculous...it's clearly gonna top everything else out there...there's NO agreement....that's gone.Otherwise...it'd been limited to 187 out the gate.

Glad someone can finally see the reality of this bird. It's SO obvious. You gotta look past all the BS that's going around about this bike.It aint JUST about HP....I'd say...(anyone)check out that vid of that guy on the dyno with it....I've NEVER seen any bike shift as quickly and as seamless into every gear like he did...ON THE DYNO(yet his rpms were FLYING)........wait till someone attempts to shift like that guy was(on a track or street)...and he wasn't even NEAR full throttle openings when he was doing those runs.....think what this baby is gonna do when it doesn't HAVE to get that heavy ass drum spinning. It powered EASILY from one gear to the next without ANY kind of 'loss' of power....I say again...he wasn't even NEAR wide open...in any of those gear changes. This thing is gonna rip....be lucky to hang on really...gonna take some practice to ride this bike. They didn't design that seat there for looks.I'd say anyone thinking this bike is another Ducati,R1,BMW...Suzuki...whatever...they're very wrong.

Yeah...I'm an optimist....absolutely.That vid gives me goosebumps everytime I watch how it powers up and shifts up(and down)with nothing but raw power ready to REALLY be unleashed on the road(or track)....

"Especially when they are saying 210 @ 11,000 rpms"...musta come from one of those new owners that'dve already received their bike;)You know...one of the many experts about this machine....

.I've NEVER seen any bike shift as quickly and as seamless into every gear like he did.

I think that bike is equipt with a quickshifter. Sure sounds like it. I noticed on on of the other Dyno vids you posted that the guy was doing clutchless downshifts from 6-5 and 5-6 then he used the clutch to sift down a few more. I was wondering how he did that. I saw a quick throttle blip but no clutch. Far as I know, you can't do that without a QS capable of clutchless downshifts. Nice.

I believe the gearbox is ala GP ring-dog type. This more contributes to the speed of the shift. Same type of electric shift, but this lighter [weight] move of the ring instead of a heavy gear being move; the ring is lighter/quicker in throw.

That vid is of the H2R if I'm not mistaken. A different beast to the H2 according to the specs. There are differences in the engine internals so it's obviously not just a remap and pipe dropping the power.
It's not the awesomeness of the H2R I'm disputing, it's just the marketing of the 2 very different versions I'm struggling with. JMO

RE: H2 Street

Yup...that's an H2R in that vid.The Kawasaki info on these two mention the Engine is virtually identical....saying it's built to withstand 1.5 to 2 times the available power and all. This means...the H2R will be able to handle 1.5 to 2 times MORE output safely....and of course...the H2 motor will be able to do the same thing..so if it's putting out say...215 HP now(some have said...210 right now)...stock....then???The only real difference from what I read from the Kawasaki website..is the Cams and Head gasket and clutch. This is the 'detuning' factor....apparently.The Motor in both bikes have the capacity to safely attain that 1.5-2 times greater power output without damage.

If a guy does those mods to his H2...then that engine will be mechanically the same as the H2R engine...which is hitting over 300 hp right now as is.Any ECU tweaking needed will be discovered in short order once these get out there to the tuners.

I think that's what's really being maybe misunderstood about this new engine. The figures of 1.5 to 2 times MORE safe power output is with BOTH motors with the SAME components(the H2R's).The engine materials and all ARE the same. They didn't intend for street guys to get out there and kill themselves. So they tamed her down a bit...but easily changed.I mean..yeah...it's gonna cost some to open her up to the H2R's capabilities...but not crazy expensive.

The thing is...the owners of the H2R will HAVE to go to the aftermarket to raise the power output...pistons...cams...whatever.The owners of the H2 will have the Kawasaki parts already designed for the H2R there. It's a win for the H2 guys..I mean...300 HP easily possible on this bike in street livery.Without the fear of something breaking.Nice.If you're a street rider...WHERE are ya gonna open her up to use that kind of power? Not too many places. But it's there if ya want it available at will.;)

Where I ride...and what I want I can't even imagine pumping this bird up any further than it already is..I think it's gonna be a handful as is.I'm good with that.Really I'm anxious to hear what Ricky has to say about his H2(R?).He's doing lots of testing right now.I think by the time these get shipped...his feedback to Kawasaki is gonna be very valuable to their factory parameters BEFORE these leave Japan.(the present models out there for the shows and all...probably NOT the final rollout package).

You can bet Kawasaki is taking ALL this potential owner feedback and such VERY Seriously(they've got a while yet to get this bike 'adjusted' to what guys really want)Hell..the potential is already right there..The idea of a gentlemen's agreement and such is a thing of the past now. They want this bike to be everything a guy REALLY wants from a bike...I believe that.
