I have a geza gear cover on mine..pricey compared to the rest of the ones out there..but then again...its pricey due to it being form fitting.,,small pack size...and will last and last...or at least I hope..

Thanks, Ted. Now that is something different and it looks exactly like what I am hoping to find. Doesn't look like they make it to cover the whole bike, though.

I heard placing a towel over the tail is a good idea.

What a PITA, hey? Hot pipes, mirrors, scratching. You have to wonder if it is even worth it. This stuff drives me nuts!

Hot pipes are going to be your biggest issue. They take so long to cool down, unless where you work you can go back out in an hour then cover it. I was parking my 06 outside at a friends while I was staying there and it sucked to have to let it cool down for an hour+ then go cover it. Sometimes the dew was settling on the bike and the pipes were still hot. I got to putting the cover on to the tops of the pegs and leaving it.

That ratty looking Nelson Rigg cover that I posted further back in this thread has a metalicized fabric lining down low that deals with the heat just fine. I can hop off the bike and throw the cover on and it's no problem.

Good idea with the towel, Rook, though you would have to change it often. I want to see the look on wifey's face when she sees me going out to the bike with the good towels. Seriously though, that would work. The cover that I've got has a nice soft lining that rests against the windscreen and its been fine with it. But the back of the tail section not so much. I figured that the one place that has gotten finely abraded is luckily the smallest and cheapest piece of painted plastic on the bike.

And I've got no choice on whether or not to use a cover. I park on the sidewalk in New York City and that and the Beretta are the only protection that the bike gets. It's a shitty situation that most riders here work with and accept, but that's just the way it is. Ain't no pity in the naked city.

Jay, I could see the heat resistant fabric working with after market pipes because they cool down by the time you get the cover out, but the stockers get hotter(maybe it seems that way)after you shut it down. Do you think they could withstand the heat. My cover has that same stuff, but I didn't want to take a chance on ruining the cover and the cans.

I used the cover that I've got now with the stock pipes, and was a little leery at first but it didn't melt anything or leave any residue. You're right though about the stockers running hotter, and the cats hold a retain a lot of heat. Maybe I just got lucky for month I had the bike before I got new pipes, but it seemed ok. And that cover goes on the second I get off the bike.

I talked to a geza rep today and I'm sold on the quality and functionality of the geza. There is a gaurenteed perfect fit. Nearly all sun damage is caused to the top of the bike so a half cover is fine. I think it is the perfect thing for parking the bike outside for the day between commutes and it is the only cover I would use to trailer a bike. The only problem is that thing looks way too cool and shows way to much of the bike. I am afraid it would encourage theft rather than deter.

I like this one. I would trust the heat shields the most. I read all the reviews MSS had posted and there was a guy who recomended buying the Dowco Weatherall Plus in the Sportbike size for a busa. I would imagine it would fit a 14 too. There were a few posts by 14 owners who had positive comments on fit but I do not know if they bought the sportbike size.

Mine is a Champion Streetstar XL and it fits very well. Went and dug it out and looked. Got it on ebay with a bag for like $20, very nice. Used it a couple months outside. Now just for the winter inside.

Check out the black 14 on the trailor. That looks soo cool, I'm sure a lot of dirtballs would be very much enticed to take a closer peek. I think I'm better off with something more nondescript given some of the areas I have to park in.

Yea, It does look cool. Not very concealing however. If that is what your going for, I don't think this is it.

Not that this is what your plan for it is, but....
I don't trailer with a cover on(open trailer), but that sounds like it does well. I've seen so many shredded covers beating the b-jesus out of whatever there supposed to be protecting. I do cover in an enclosed trailer if I'm going a distance. Weird huh? That dust in the trailer gets into everything.

I snatched up the Nelson Rigg Defender 2000 a few days ago. Perfect fit and it's well made. Definitely recommended. And thanks, BG, it's a great choice.

Glad you posted your opinion, Jay. I only purchased a Nelson Rigg dust cover. I went all the way to a XXL because the L was plain too small to fit over the bike. The XXL is way too big but that's fine for a dust cover. I can always hem the bottom which drags way onto the floor. It is also almost wide enough front to back to fit another 1/2 a bike under there. I imagine an XL would be just about right for the 14. That is the size they recommend for a busa.

The Nelson Rigg Defender 400 was waaaaay to small in the back, plus the seam across the pillion cover etched a band of micro-abrasion when it flapped in the wind. The Defender 2000 fits perfectly with room to spare but it's not flappy AND there's no seam in that location. I'll post a pic soon.

Off topic for sure, but if someone has any good polish tricks for Midnight Sapphire they should post somewhere. I spend a lot of time polishing out finishes at my job and I still haven't found a silver bullet for this bike. I wish Kaw's clear coat was a little tougher but maintaining flexibility of the finish on plastics makes the finish coat soft and scratches really show on midnight sapphire blue.

Looks pretty similar, but the chain and rear disc is covered. And the material is a little heavier. Perfect fit but too flappy for a trailer, I would say.

I used a product made by turtle wax called ICE Liquid Claybar applied with a micro fiber. It is a super fine abrasive so you have to rub your arse off but it worked really well for me. It will leave behind a barely visable swirl but that totally fills in with an application of ICE paste polish. Some people feel the paste polish attracts dust but all I know is that the scuffed areas and even a couple real minor scratches rubbed right out and I never saw the tiny swirl reappear after paste polishing.

Another product called Xymol looks very similar to Liquid Claybar. You might want to try that because you will probably have an easier time finding it. I haven't seen ICE L C since I bought my bottle over a year ago.

^^The Geza dude i talked to told me they had a special pattern for every model they make a cover for so it it really should be perfect. If you have two bikes that are similar, they will even make up an inbetween for you so you can use the cover for both. Geza sounds like a great company.

You're right about the after market pipes. I can hold my hand on mine after it has cooled off a couple minutes and it just feels warm. The stockers took about 30 minutes after a long ride before you could touch them.

I was reading through these posts on the covers-I(sorry guys)couldn't help but laugh-even now writing this. Not for you poor guys that have to park yer rides outside-where GOD knows WHAT might happen.I could NEVER do that and sleep at night!.Thanks for all the chuckles guys-just great!!!(I just bought a cover off superstore-29.00.It's a "dust cover",but quite complete as far as fitting goes.No worries about theft or wind or elements-I'm fortunate to have a garage."It might reveal too much of the bike and invite thieves"-that was a good one! EVERYONE KNOWS YOU HAVE A BADASS SPORTBIKE BRO!!!!! If they can't see it,they're gonna want to find out anyway WHAT is under that pesky cover!!!!!! And no one wants to go for the "Harley Bubble?" Comon guys-don't you just worship your motorcycles?!...I've heard of "ship in a bottle"....How bout "bike in a bubble"? You could "Showcase it fer all your friends-get some cool LEDS goin on-some mirrors and such.Maybe a smoke machine.... ...kinda the "live to ride, ride to live" motif there? Top it off with a little Aerosmith or George Thourogood-

AHHHHHHA! I paid $40 for my cloth cover. Personally, I think a fitted queen-size bed sheet would do just fine for a dust cover but I bet that will cost $30 bucks at least.

Finally got it. I think it will work well for something to keep the sun and bird crap off for those times the 14 is parked in a lot all day. It seems to fit perfectly across the front with mirrors extended. The inside cloth windshield protector is large enough that it also protects the mirrors. A bit looser low in back but if you pull it down to cover the sprocket, the extra material comes in handy. The cover does fit pretty tigh across the end of the tail. Would be wise to cover that with a towel to protect the finish. has nylon strap with D-rings to pull tight and secure under the bike. Also has a triangular vent on top of left mirror. this thing will be quite a package to haul with . It would fill a small backpack.

choose black for sportbike.

This thing is bigger to carry than what I wanted. It is a nice cover but I don't feel a double layered cover is necessary just to hide the bike and keep it dry on a summer day. Here's a pic packed in bag. I put my lid in there to show how big it is.

2 years later and I still use the Guardian on the 14. Yes it's way to large to carry conveniently, it takes a few minutes to get on the bike, it pulls the mirrors out of adjustment, it scuffs the windscreen unless you apply tape to protect it, and at the end of the day it is a big PITA to squash back up and stuff back in the bag (which has ripped along the seam now).

I replaced the OEM mirrors with CRG bar end mirrors. This thing is gonna be loose and floppy now.

got this for the busa and I really like. Think the 14 needs one too.

Go to PashnitMotto.com to get in on BIG savings through the Geeza blem sale. Got the Elite for $240 shipped. That's like 100$ off. There is a cheaper model, the Super Lite ($80 less) and prolly work almost as good. You will need to wait a couple months ordering a blem but it's worth the wait. Prolly the only cover you will ever buy for you bike. The blem is the wrinkle lines tiger stripes you might see in the pics below, actually less visible in real life.

I wouldn't use the Elite for towing. Maybe one of the expensive top of the line models but any cover on a bike at speed would be a constant worry----just sayin'--don't choose because of towing speed capacity, you prolly never towe with one of these things, IMHO.

Goes on a bit quicker than the Guardian, Has no effect on the mirrors, doesn't rub around so AFAIK, it won't scuff the windscreen or the tail, Is less than 1/4 the size of the Gaurdian. This, I will have no prob carrying and it goes back in the neat little duffle bag easily.

perfect. Costs a few more than a standard cover but it does what a cover should do.

One drawback, it looks so cool on the bike that it might draw just as much attention as it would without. Might want to lock up the bike and the cover with a cable. Next thing, buy a set of these and your bike will look so cool covered up you might have too much fun playing striptease to go riding!!!

If you go to the Geeza website and read all their info, you will see that this is an amazingly well thought out product and everything I mention plus more is explained in detail.

ORDER AT PASHNITMOTO.COM<<<CLICK

You can use the nylon loops along the edge to stretch the cover down farther. I use one on each side hooked on the footpeg which is adequate for sun protection.

logo on the front

mirrors fit through a hole with a cord sinch and tog.

mine came with mirror covers----lol kind of funny, I guess for those who are even more picky than I am LOL

best part, check out the compactness. Anyone can carry that inside their jacket if need be.

I bought this one from CoverMax for mine, (for a full dress 500-1100cc - indoor/outdoor cover), and it covers the whole bike.
