the last thing I want is to buy a used bike that's been a ecu hack from an idiot. you people need to put software in that flashes the instrument dash to warn of hacking..

I'm afraid I have to agree with 1Bad here, one reason I don't like buying used bikes.

Cool, indeed. Thank you for the detailed explanation Mr. Woolich.
I agree, that does sound worthwhile.

Just flash it back to stock, we provide the stock bin files so it only takes a couple of minutes to be back to a 100% stock ECU as it came from the factory.
So I needs to keep a flasher for all the used bikes I buy or does 1 flasher fit all ECU's.

We also have an interface which can be used with the Denso ECU's found in Suzuki's and some Kawasakis (e.g. ZX6R, Z1000 etc).
unless things have changed since I look into this stuff a few years back then why is there 2 different flashers for the hayabusa alone

For the Denso ECU's (i.e. Hayabusa etc) we have 2 options, both of which allow you to tune about 15 different bike models,
1) We have the basic USB Interface (Denso) which allows you to read/write to the ECU and also has an real time engine data mode so you can monitor engine data direct from the ECU on your computer when you are on the dyno etc.
2) We also have the Log Box (Denso) which does everything that the USB Interface does and it also incorporates the ability to log engine data and AFR to the on board micro sd for use in the Autotune.
So while there are 2 options, you only need to choose one of them as they both allow you to read/write to the Denso ECU's

so this box will flash both a gen 1 busa or a gen 2 busa

can you also tell me what the fuel numbers on a fuel map mean by a percentage of fuel . like what does a number 75 mean and you bump it up to like a 85 . did I just add 10% fuel .

I have a spare ECU, and I'm wondering what zx14 version it's for, and can it be flashed to an '06 non-Ca bike?

The fuel numbers in the fuel maps control how long the injectors are kept open, to give you the most accuracy for fueling changes we have left them the numbers in the same format as you find them in the underlying fuel map table. If you add 10% to a cell e.g. 100 -> 110 then you will get approximately 10% more fuel.

thanks. for all the responses. next time I will try your product. I did the old ecu hack (editor) long ago on Suzuki's and found that to slow to tune with. and adding accessories was a good way to butcher up a wire harness too. but it did serve a purpose with raising rev limiter and getting rid of soft limiters and unifying maps.

jkwool; Thanks! "So you SHOULD be able to" Meaning it's not guaranteed (besides the normal flash risks)? What happens if the flash fails? Do I have a brick, or can it be flashed back?

So yes you can flash the 49 state bin file to the CA ECU as the processor inside the ECU is identical.
There is nothing mystical or mythical about Flashing an ECU. Flashing is just re-writting the memory of the processor in the ECU, Provided you follow the common sense instructions you wont have problems. And by common sense instructions I mean things like, dont disconnect the power supply mid flash, dont unplug the USB cable mid flash etc.
If a flash does not complete for some reason, you can just flash it again and the processor will be written to again.
