In what country that is free and democratic can the authorities demand entry to it's citizens homes without a strong reason and search warrant?
You are seriously suggesting that New Zealand police can now simply turn up un-announced, demand entry to any residence and check for firearms?
Can your police come to your house and demand entry to check for illegal drugs, pedophile content on your computer, whether you beat the crap out of your wife, or illegal immigrants being housed for working in your business for peanuts?
For the first time in it's history there has been a mass extermination in New Zealand of approximately 50 innocent people.
This countries leaders have acted promptly towards preventing a reoccurrence.
The vast majority of people here agree with the decision to ban military style semi-automatic weapons.
They know and beleive there is no sane reason for a citizen to own such a weapon.
They want something to actually be done.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I have said it over and over and over again.
But here's one I get back consistently from the pro firearm lobby in the US.
"The US is completely different from Australia and New Zealand so don't tell us what to do regarding our guns laws over here".
I now repeat that back to you.
The two countries are completely different.
You and your citizens want your guns. Good luck to you.
New Zealand citizens don't. Good luck to us.
As for Petersons book being taken off the shelves here, thats the fucking do gooders at work again and political correctness gone mad.
Again.
If you think this kind of insanity is exclusive to New Zealand you are naive.
It is a toxicity that infects the world...
Because you now live in an authoritarian nation.
Yet another moronic statement from Bumpfire.
So no laws are necessary to protect peoples rights because it takes away freedom?
So if I want to have and play with viles of bubonic plague in my house because I love bacteria I should be allowed to otherwise I live in an authoritarian state?
Or so even the simplistic Bumpfire can understand, I love and collect old world war 2 armaments. The older and rustier the better. But my thing is they have to be live or it's just not realistic enough. Yeah they are a bit volatile and unpredictable, but it's a risk I'm willing to take.
If I did would you and your kids be happy living next door to me Bumpfire?
Fuck the safety of you and your family! It's my freedom and right to do so and if I'm told I can't, I live in an authoritarian state.
Or if it's something as simple as the fact I wanted to play extremely loud music all night every night that impacts people in nearby vicinity.
If you tell me turn the music down it's my freedom and rights being compromised and so I live in an authoritarian state.
Laws are necessary to balance what you can have or do that does or does not effect others.
I repeat, the vast vast majority of New Zealanders want something done to try and prevent this tragedy from happening again and are happy for semi automatic weapon to be banned.
You will never understand that.
Just like I will never understand how mass shooting after mass shooting after mass shooting happens in the US and absolutely nothing is done about it so it simply continues...
