Hmmm..!!

Give me your ideas guys. Imagine this bike without the decals:

I was thinking of getting the Monster decal + some standard decals to replace the old ones. But im kind of debating about the color of the Decals.

Should i stick to silver? Or maybe .. Gold? Black?

http://www.ebay.nl/itm/HUGE-MONSTER-M-CLAW-STICKER-CHROME-MIRROR-EFFECT-/170534211287#ht_524wt_1159

This ones Golden, but im not sure if it would match the paint and the rest of the bike.

OPINIONS PLZZZZZ!!

What do you think of this combo:

Made the decals golden, same for the rims.

Just debating about the Fins of the sideskirt. Leave em black? Maybe Red, Maybe golden color?

Not really feeling the gold. Chrome emblems, paint the foremans body color, and get body color wheel rims stripes. Chrome emblems will match with most exhausts. My buddies bike has a lot of gold and chrome on it just a little too busy for me. But this is just my opinion go with what you like Sir. Try immortal graphics they have a lot of different decals for the 14, or you get them to make them custom for you. They're a whole lot cheaper than kawasaki decals.

Sorry, R, can't comment on that width question of yours. Only thing I have ever concerned myself with is height.

Never heard of anyone going wider except for looks. No performance gain to be had. Wait, I didn't see this whole page 2 you have going. More to come....

My O:

NO on the double wide tire. Yoiu will feel like you are riding a double wide Winebago. Used to thonk that look was mighty damned impressive looking but now that I know what I know about motorcycles and performance and weight and handling------

Metal finish for sportbikes: Gold ** silver ** anodized color of your choice, pick one or two, do not gop for all three.

Color choice is entirely subjective but my rule is chrome is more for cruisers. Polished aluminum is ok for sportbikes but chrome looks heavy. I think "steel" when I look at chrome. My rearsets are high polished aluminum. Very bright. not so reflective and mirror like as chrome but a lot more eye catching. My chrome plated chain looks dull next to it. Silver metalic paint is also fine for bike parts. Chrome is not for me on a sportbike.

Gold is nice. I like gold with a warm color like your red very much. Gold an also be very eye catching with blue. I would stay away from a gold chrome in favor of a painted gold a/o anodized gold treatment. One exception, stickers. A sticker is entirely for asthetic purposes and therefore, to me, a mirror-like surface of gold can be very nice in a sticker. I would stay away from chromey gold levers and such. That is gona look like a ghetto machine. All bling, no zing.

IOW, I think that gold chrome Monster M would fit very nicely on your red bike. I think that will mean the other stickers will need to match so go chrome gold on the tank and front Ninja emblem. Tail ZZR-14 can be gold sticker too. If you cannot get chrome gold stickers for tank, tail and side, a metalic gold that is not mirror like would work very nicely. Even a simple gold color as in yellow-brown ochre like you have chosen in your mockup above would be cool. In fact, if you do the metalic gold or the ochre gold on the tank/side/tail, a trim of the same color around your Monster M would look very professional.

Love the gold wheel trim with black wheels. Go with a fat stripe like you have if possible. Don't go with chromey gold on the wheels. Just a solid ochre gold color trim would be best IMO. Or some anodized gold wheels. Carrazeria makes nice anodized wheels. Tri R is the lightest and they will be pretty darn close to BST CF wheels in wheight, maybe a bit lighter, even. The OEM wheel style is best for looks.

I guess I am favoring a gold and red scheme over silver. You may consider anodized gold levers and reasets and spools. Maybe a few other gold dodads. Just don't go crazy with mirrror finishes. Black anodized aftermarket parts would gfo nicely if you don't want to be too blinged out.

Thanks for the replies rook!

I see i finally caught your attention to this thread, lol!

I think you are right about the wheels, i would only do it for the looks and it would screw up my ridabilty.
The decals, i contacted somr guy on ebay that sells zx14 monster edition stickers and asked him if hes able to pruduce them in the chromey gold emblems.

Then id just need to find a cool tankpad and the rim stripes. But that shouldnt be too hard.

Rook, do you agree the fins unpainted would look best? I called the painter to skip the fins becauae i have this feeling it would be too much with the golden stickers. Hell, if i regret it ill do it myself in the future

The Mag Knight is a good tank pad for the 14 and you can order in that same red to match your tank for an extra 20 bucks. A Matte black Mag Knight would go great with your bike too.

Ya, I think so. Definitely would be one of my top choices to leave them alone.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. ExpensiEAU ho, ho, HO! But that is the best thing for total tank protection.

I have never owned anything but a tank bra for my bikes which does the job. Never had a prob with dirt getting under them. My tanks look new. Most people don't go for the bra look however. The MagNight is one big magnet so no dirt can get under. Only thing, looks like it does take a beating and shows some ripples and scuffing after a while. Might need to replace it if you lay on it a lot or def if you use a tank bag on top of it.

Yeah that's True Rook. It also seems bigger which means more protection. I'll keep it in the back of my head, who knows - Maybe i'd still get it.

About the stickering. Maybe Bronze-Chrome would also do well, im just not too sure if its easy to make as Gold-Chrome style.

Im wondering, the uhmm.. Silver Wing-looking protectors on the bike Above the exhaust pipe. Is it easy transform those into another color, like Bronze-kinda something? Is that something i can do myself? (It doesnt have to shine)

gr.

I was thinking by the way.. standard back-wheel at the ZX14 is a 190mm right? What's the NEXT size after the 190mm? And is that a size that needs a swingarm?

Matsuke,

I'm running a 200 rear tire with the stock wheel and swingarm. I like the look and it does not mess with the performance of the bike. No "Winnebago" here.

I know this is an old thread, but those golden decals look awesome on a red ZX14. Who makes Monster and or Kawasaki gold decals, or are they photoshopped on the picture?

Here's the '06 Passion Red, the '10 red is a hotter red, almost like a chili pepper.

There are a number of folks that have mounted a 200 width rear on the ZX-14. No clearance issues. I'm not sure what the maximum size you can fit in there is without mods, though.
