RE: Akrapovics 2012 Update

Update, They finally arrived, took pictures this time!
The Box.
What was in the box, very well packed!
Exhaust disasembled
The 02 sensor bung, notice the link pipe is only for bracing.
On the bike!
Sexy looking welds!
And no I havn't finished cleaning yet! The springs were a biatch to get to & you have to be very careful not to damage the radiator fins! And yes I did use new exhaust gaskets, I wasn't doing this twice!
The Yoshi R77's fitted perfectly to the headers. Very happy with the quality & overall fitup.
Nice burble to it, I will add to this post once it's all back together, and have had a ride or two!
Then its off to the tuners for a dyno run or two!
Had the bike on the dyno today.
So the results, still waiting for the dyno sheet, but the HP 182.7.
will post up pics when I get the dyno chart.
With only a short run through traffic the bike is much smoother, tuner says the bike was very lean across the board.
Also added a DNA air filter.
Ok just in from my first decent run after the dyno/tuneup. The bike will now pull from as little as 2000RPM much smoother! It is now point & shoot, choose a gear, twist throttle! There seems to be more torque available at most throttle positions! I would recommend this to all! I will get a printout at the next tune, as I am curious to find out the torque figures available now!
I couldn't be happier with the bike!

Just got back from a small ride, all hwy stuff unfortunately but the bike is more responsive from low revs.
It wants to spin up quicker too. Going for a longer ride tomorrow, so will have more of an idea then.
Love the new sound!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worried it will attract unwanted attention!

Bike goes into the tuner on the 22nd, so will post up here when it's all done.
With the ride I did last Sunday the bike now sounds fantastic, but quite a lot of popping on decel, so definately needs some tuning. Using less fuel than before, very hard to keep it under the posted speed limits!

Pics of my babies
Still got a few bits and pieces coming including a c/f hugger and some adjustable pegs.
The handlebar conversion makes the bike a lot more comfortable to ride coz i used to get severe neck oain with the standard bars.
Did the same conversion to my Hayabusa
Not on the bike at the time of pics a ventura rack and black lambswool seat cover, if I want to go touring
The fjr1300 is my other bike, its a 2002/03 model with only q25000kms on it.
The previous owner really looked after it ..it`s like new and 10 years old..amazing condition.I only got it 3 weeks ago.

My old Hayabusa is in the background loaded for the trip,,,3500kms over 6 days including a lot of partying
Just love the look of tha Akras, expensive but worth every cent

Hello leo167, you can get all the info on www.abm.com out of Germany.
I think they have dealers worldwide.
If you have abs let them know coz the non abs has different braided lines.
The kit comes complete with longer brake and clutch lines and all the stuff you need
They are top quality and if you get them go for the black powder coat.
I had the plain alloy on my Hayabusa and the sun reflected back like a bitch.

No extra vibes, very smooth, but at really high speeds you would need to tuck in.
I also put a double bubble mra sreen that seems to work really well.
On my Hayabusa at over 220kph you could feel a bit of buffeting but the screen was different.
On the 14 doesn`t seem to be a problem. The law is everywhere here so the high speed stuff is risky anyway
They impound your bike for about 40 k`s over the limit.
Rather not let that happen.
I will post up a couple of close up pics after work tonight.
If you have problems with you neck or back it is excellent

Isn't it obvious that I have neck problems (lol)
Really not that bad..as long as my rides don't extend over 4 hrs, unfortunately
I'm at least 2 hrs away from the good stuff
Just to confirm this product just bolts on top of the triple not like the spieler product which you replace the top triple? I mean it did mention in the website but want to hear from an actual user

Hey Leo, sorry mate I didn`t answer your question very well , but yes the kit bolts on to the oem triple tree using the bolt holes for the original bars.
I got my dealer to fit them coz its a fair bit of pissing around to put them on.
One of the issues i was not confident with was bleeding abs brakes. The other bit of messing about is where to drill the small holes in the bars to line up the levers.
If you are a half decent mechanic ....which i`m not its probably not too hard .
This is the second kit from them , and if I didn`t do the conversion I probably would have traded on a tourer with the higher bars.
I have also put some adjustable pegs out of China to lower them.
