It wasn't the 'geometry' that was screwed up

Wrong, and it still is.

The 18" rear tire (standard size for wide custom tires) makes absolutely no difference in the front end 'geometry'.

Wrong again, getting even further away from the truth.

The 'slight' lowering (front & rear) and 4.5" stretch also did not have any significant effect

Very wrong, maybe didn't affect pushing the bike around in the garage much.

I'm just old sportbike wannabee

You would have been an old fast rider if you listened to people who don't sell fat tire kits
but maybe have a clue about suspension, geometry etc.
I don't have a problem with the way your bike looks, to each their own,
but the fact that you're in denial about crippling it's performance is evident.

Nobody here is saying you should go all out on the street, you seem to take it that way.
And also, that velcro on your suit above the boots is for knee pucks,
that's where I sometimes see people put them.

Mass, the velco on my suit is for my cell phone, and to keep stuff that I lose a lot. Anyone wearing knee pucks for riding the streets is, IMHO, el stupido, & won't live long enough to wear them out.

As to performance... I'm not racing anybody. I 'normally' don't ride in groups, so I basically ride my own way. If someone in a tricycle or a VW bus wants to pass me, they're welcome to it.

^^Some wannabe you are, ZXS....you would definitely have untouched slider pucks on your knees if you were any kind of a real wannabe.

I knew I wouldn't touch my pucks but I had to have them. I ordered them with my pants. They just stick on there and look cool. Anyone with leathers and no knee pucks is a disgrace to all posers!!!

JK, of course.

(but really, it's not so hard to grate them over the sidewalk/....just to get them started.)

ZXSyko, that is one tight 14!! I love the mesh over the venting holes. What did you use for that? Is that a DIY job? Nice!

No see Rook you have it all wrong first you got to a trackday grind the puck way more than you need to and then put them on your street pants that lets everyone know you got your knee down. Oh and make sure you ride the street on race take offs those alone with the pucks will give you Rossi status at bike nights. Oh and make sure you tell the guy on the chromed out VMAX his geometry is all fucked, his bike is to heavy and long that’s why it sucks to ride on a track. Once he understands the error of his ways I'm sure he will run out and buy a proper motorcycle.

Rook, I hope that's not directed to me. I only have about 4,000 track miles this season alone
on the two track gixxers, few more days on the R1 too. Say... 5th or 6th season so far.
Do I know everything about suspension, geometry, setups etc...? Not at all.
Do I know more about it than people who haven't even been to the track as spectators?
Maybe.
Poser? Please, meet me at the track to settle that.

I offer my advice, if you have no use for it- that's fine.
Mentioning take off race rubber and worn out knee pucks, sorry,
I have kids in line for mine constantly.
When your pace reaches a point when you can't get a 3rd day out of a set of tires,
please, post in that regard.

Take it easy there Mass. I was talking about me. I'm the one with the shiny pucks. You really think I'd call you a poser? I see your track pics and I always knew you had good advice and lots of experience. Just having some fun with ZXS. MAybe send him your worn out pucks. I can use a set as well.

So... I drive a new truck and it runs great but when I hook up my 7x14 V-nose double axle trailer with 4 bikes and all the gear...
well, the truck accelerates somewhat slower and sometimes at highway speeds (90-95 mph) the front doesn't feel as planted with the trailer on.
The truck is only lifted 4".

Do you guys think I need new front tires?

And more often than not my girlfriend really gets on my nerve while we are driving out to some of these more distant tracks... or driving anywhere I guess...
but she always insists that it's me and not her.

Is it me?

I don't think it really matters. You're just very lucky to have a gf that will get on your nerve while driving.. Be careful nd have fun.

ZXSyco, the bike looks great. We all want to make our bike personal. To each their own.
Some people have negative stuff to throw around no matter the subject. They have a problem that no new tire and bearings will fix.
Enjoy the bike.
