Took the bike for a decent spin yesterday and gave the brakes a good test. Initial braking is excellent and instant. Massive difference when compared to OEM setup. But when pulling the level in for a longer period of time I notice a slight vibration from the front brake, not enough to be bothered about but just enough to notice it. It's probably like others have suggested that the waves are slicing though the pads causing this feel.

Good example is when I am riding at high speeds and can see at a distance the stop lights have turned red, I pull the lever and the initial stopping power is superb, hold the lever in (without increasing pressure) for 2-3 more seconds and all I get is this vibration, the bike slows down and the vibration disappears before the bike stops.

Can't really do much more apart from changing the pads to see if it helps reduce the vibration. Other option is to win the lottery and buy Brembo T-Drive rotors.

I'm open to suggestions if there are any. Thanks.

OK Problem Solved!!!

I adjusted my master cylinder setting to 20x19, more brake pressure from the MC and by god the brakes are brilliant. Certainly got my money's worth now. Highly recommended set up to anyone who is looking for an upgrade. A little expensive but I guess you get what you pay for. I'll be going on a 2000 miles trip in December and can't wait no longer.

Did you have steel braided lines before? If not I would bet that a LOT of the improvement you are feeling is from those lines, I'd recommend to EVERYONE to upgrade their lines. I've got some Spiegler lines (DOT certified too!) and the first time I used them I almost went over the bars.

I'm certain the other components are an improvement over OEM but the steel lines are probably your best bang for the buck if all you need is better braking performance. I thought I had to replace my rotors last year and was looking at Galfers as well but the $300/disc price tag turned me off them pretty quickly (turned out the rust pitting I saw on the OEM rotors wore away pretty quick so I didn't need to replace them).

Rolling with a Galfer rear and. Braided rear lines. The rear brake is now useable!
Wish I had the fronts sorted! The set up as is works pretty good though!

I have one of these on the way. Was considering removing the rear brake and it's apparatus to shed useless weight since the stock rear is so wooden.

Yeah Danno, It's almost like sticking a piece of 2x4 in the spokes of the rear rim.... nothing nothing nothing... and then full lock up...
That stock really is a piece of garbage - I've got a Braking rear wave going on with the new tires this coming Saturday....I'll report back my findings in 5 months....

I have the rear galfer rotor installed now and a big improvement from the OEM ones. I dont use my rear brake that much but will need to change my riding style as i have a decent set up now, might as well utilize what i spent.

Initial bite...

Interesting. The only change I see are the loose rings floating. This went from palm to palm [then the other pistons] in the back loaded. With the disc floating, the disc can be moved into position where the piston pucks all line up as one. This becomes a full hand slap on the disc. Makesense in my world.

Because just the other day I had a discussion with the dad who has a son racing: to stay in tone. I was checking over his bike, rattled the discs for drag. I schooled dad about watching out for drag, the kid schooled me as did you with the same exact words outhe mouth. This came to me at that moment. And the palm/hand concept cleans it up trying to type out the abstract, unless I have it wrong.
