Let's face it the stockers are quite personal, it's an aquired taste. So when we switch em out why do we keep the stock parts? For potential resale, or for the you never know? I kept mine for resale, but since I've seen what Cbalst did with his, it might be replacing the yosh when they need to be repacked (they are now relegated to the "you never know") category.
Thoughts?
M

Stock rocks. If it ain't broke, don't fix it (and piss away scarce, good time and money in the process!!).

I'm wondering just what kind of effect removing those cats in the stock mufflers would have.I would remove em...but the midpipe is welded right there to the muffler....it would mean rewelding to get those out of there...I really don't want to go through that yet...though I have a great welder friend who could easily reweld like new.Hell..you don't see that part of the piping anyway. But the cat is right there...easy to break loose and pull it out.

Stock does rock!!!

But the sound, performance and weight savings, that rocks a little bit too. The blow to the pocket book - no so much!

Went back to all stock today...
She WOT's nice about being turtle? I am joe average but HA head of my time average. I sort of warn you about 'don't go dare, ain't worth it' and low and behold a thread is he's 'back' to stock.

I'm just a street squid with no ambitious need to scrap pegs, quarter mile, or top end the bike. Just putt or WOT when the going gets going.

Reset the bodywork...it looks fine now.
I think there is a power to weight ratio somewhere is why I axe the plastic. Japanese styling is not my bag. More, they are boxed is how diss bike looks to me. A Duc is body work. Japanese make power and more or less makes an attempt at the look. JMO

Started her up for a minute....the tank and all felt smoother already(idling). We'll see;)
It's like saying I put a pillow over the [tank's] vibration, it felt smoother already? I'm not putting you down, clown, is it just rolled out da mouf that way.

No, grn, what I'm saying is if you listen to the diagnosis, if you want to walk the talk, where is the vibration coming from? It's coming from 4 pulses of air. It can't be the timing, right? That is fixed and can't move. The next move is that emissions setup. It runs off pulses.

So pulse for pulse, vib for vib, NOLTT when I say to sync the bike as per book = Lots of vibration gone from grip to mirrors. With 4 air screws set all over the placemisshed, are we even is the pulse? No way hose say is get out the manometer findiss thy hose is. Hap Pee Sync'Inn!

NOLTT's Bike Sea-See-Smoooooooooooth as an ocean's breeze is I can't get to the sync screw dangumit!

I gotcha, most forget the sync. Most don't even look there. I am gonna eventually try slips and a sync and a re flash for stage 1 when funds allow. Pair removal at the same time.

I agree with the sync adjust....but at 1500 miles? That's awfully quick to have to readjust.I'm gonna have my guy do that though...up ahead...not just yet.But I definitely agree.Tire(s) change coming up soon...probably have him do it then. Why not.

...but at 1500 miles?
No offense, grn, but I mentioned this when I first rode the bike. This not about mileage, it is about how they use the ]canister vapor cleaning] off the low speed screws. Some are closed, some are open for the feed in of air pulse to exit is the pulse out.

Bring the shop manual so your guy can see how the factory wants it set.
