Wow, thanks John! Does it interfere with any maps installed right now, and, a PCIII that is still installed? The PCIII is much better than stock; this is my hymnal; that is sings much better with the stock flies in AND the PCIII. I wonder how much better the device you mention is?
Hi Donny, no, the TRE 008 locks the sixth gear map in place. Your shift indicator will always read 6 no matter what gear you're in, that's the only down side. The sixth gear map has the most aggressive rate of sub-throttle opening. It will work fine with your PCIII, you might want to give Ivan a call and get one of his maps he developed for the TRE application. Your bike will run amazingly smooth and powerful down low if you do. It will give you low end torque that is halfway between flies in and flies out and the effect lasts up through 6500 rpm where the flies are fully opened. Sport Rider magazine tested one and said it was the biggest bang for the buck they had ever seen giving almost 15 extra HP down low.
Installation of the TRE is about a 15 minute affair and involves simply unplugging the Gear Position Indicator connector on the left side of the bike and plugging in the TRE and connecting a ground wire to the countershaft sprocket cover. The Gear Position connector is in plain view right above the countershaft sprocket cover.
I'll locate the TRE this evening and ship it out to you.
