Rook, I'm not considering the ZX10. I'm thinking about the Ninja 1000.
It's basically a Z1000 with full bodywork. Been out for 2 years now. I have a pic of it at another thread titled "What do you think of this Kaw"? It doesn't have the power of the 14 but like you were saying, it would fit me better. I can't really use the power the 14 has anyway. The Ninja 1000 is much better ergonomically too. I wouldn't have that same acceleration but I'm sure it's fast enough. My common sense says to sell the 14 and get the Ninja. I don't have room for another bike. But the 14 has that "something" if you know what I mean that the Ninja lacks, even though I could change my mind once I see a Ninja in person. As yet I've only seen pics of it. Very tough decision to make.

Yep, I believe I remember seeing the adds. S'pose to be very exciting to ride. Makes a cool intake howl if I recall. It is a great looking bike and FAST w without question. We're spoiled with the ZX-14 torque though. That would be something hard to forget until you are leaning into the curves then I am sure you wouldn't miss the big lumbering 14 anymore. lol

"Glad your doing better KAK and about the ninja 1000 I hear mixed revues you either love it or hate it so I recommend a test ride!!!"

Hmmm. I've read several articles and visited a popular website and the only common complaint some riders have had was some buzzing/vibrations at about 7,500 rpm to 9,000 rpm. Some don't like it and others say it's no big deal. I've heard that the tranny shifts OK but not as precise as some bikes. Beyond that I've read nothing negative. I posted some questions to owners and it doesn't appear to have any common problems like leaks or noises, etc.
Something tells me I'd be happier over the long term with the Ninja 1000 but there's something about the 14 that's making it tough to sell it. If I could improve the bar position more than the 1" up and 1/2" back kit I already have, then I'd seriously want to keep the 14. But to me, the LSL kit looks bad and doesn't fit the 14 well. I wish someone could come up with a better looking bar kit. Actually, I haven't bothered looking for quite awhile so maybe there is another kit out there. I think the LSL raises things about 5" and back 3"? Don't know because I e-mailed them and they couldn't tell me what their own kit provides. Maybe a kit that raises things about 3" and back 2" would still feel good but not compromise the look of the bike so much. With the LSL kit the clutch and brake reservoirs seem to stick way out in pics I've seen and I can't get past that. Don't like the top brace either...why silver?? I'd have to have it PC'ed or anodized black too. Never seen a 14 in person with an LSL kit but in pics I don't like it much.

If they do fit, let me know. Might be something that could work for me AND others. Thanks.
I did try looking around on the web for other kits. Only thing I found was some clip on style bars with risers from Apex. They clamp around your fork and then have a riser that 90 degrees into a clip on style bar. Going just by the pic they don't look good in my opinion. Not sure if the Apex bars require fit/clearance mod's either. Maybe that's why no one around here seems to mention them. I'd think there would be some kind of compromise kit (like 3" up and 2 back) but it looks like it's LSL or the basic block riser kit (1") I already have. Nothing in between.

Concourse bars do not look like they will fit the ZX-14!
