I got about 4 racks of carbs from my 94 GSXR I need to be rid of one of these days but no flatslides unfortunately. wish I could help...keep looking, you should be able to get them better than 1.4K I would think.
Damn carburglars!

Amazing how similar the bikes were that year. I understand now why you wanted it back. And yes I would buy mine back if I could just so I could beat on her some more. :)

Dust? If you had ATF over everything, or that good army preserve grease, you spray it off with S100, if they still make that stuff. Plus, it has to be bone stock without the modern zip-ties, unless it came with them. But those plastic or aluminum bands call the points if so replaced with zips.
In other words, you wipe that bike down in 20 years, go to some swap/show and run in "Unrestored" class. You might as well make room for the mantel. You'll out point the zip-tiears. They show up and lose right off the bat and all that restoration time and money to rechrome all the pitting. Or else, you are pit for pit, tire for original tires.
If you had the oil/grease over the parts that were not pitted, go look now under the cover maybe. It really has to sit outside and the pores in the chrome will meet 'uncle corrosion'; who comes masquerading as rain/fog/mist kind of combo on the finish.
But we here know about vinegar, right? A carburetor's best friend. Props there, russty. Now, go empty that tank, pour ATF in it, roll the tank around so you covered everything. Half a quart or more and agitate away. How many minutes did that take after 20 years of rust on the bottom of the tank. This is where you [find a better tank]; press your fingers underneath the bottom of the tank to feel integrity or you fingers poke thru. And is there still a gasket kit after the vinegar dip? Are the part is still available or now in replica if you are lucky. Good luck after 20 years or more time; zipping away.

LMAO!
Yeah, I'm sure I can find a used set for less $$$... just gonna need to be patient. Atleast the carbs on it are the the originals that were jetted after all the motor work was done. I knew I should have pulled the flatslides when I sold the bike.

Good for you Dogo. I am jealous. haha Do not remember that paint scheme. Very different. Have fun getting re-acquainted.
Thanks! Unfortunately, the plastics are worked and need repaired and repainted. My lack of painting skill means it's gonna be a single stage solid color.....
Or maybe a streetfighter???

I am a no vote on the '01 Bandit 12S I moved out of the garage to make room for the 14. Great motor, but I never could get the suspension on that bike right. Anyway, I didn't think of her again after getting underway on the 14. Now my 1st bike, a '93 Sporster 12, I would like to have back.

Glad you got it back Dogo!! Still have my first "true love" sport bike, my 84 750 Turbo. Rode it to work today in fact. But I would LOVE to have the 05 ZX12R I traded in for the 14 back. If I could have it along with the 14 of course, LOL!!

Glad you got it back Dogo!!
Glad someone is. lol
Getting parts for the 9r is killing me!
Quality aftermarket is almost non-existant... and stock parts are getting shipped from Japan.

Never sold my '79 GS1000E in the first place.
Bought it new. Have over 140,000 miles total but 35,000 on the V&H rebuild back in 2000. Been nearly bullet-proof.
Too many memories to let it go. Bought the 14 to "semi-retire" it. Seem to get more and more looks as time goes by. Many of them say they wish they had kept their bike when they see mine. One guy visiting from France wanted to buy my bike on the spot but I'll probably be buried with it.
