They said they would give me free oil changes for a year. Ya right like I was going to let them touch my bike. Its more like, DON'T TAKE YOUR BIKE TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE YOU COULD DIE! I still dont think the Insp. was done right. If that sum bitch comes apart on me and I'm still alive you will be looking at the new president of the company.
He he.. yeah.. no shit! You get what you pay for. Pay 0$ for recall inspection get $0 worth of inspection. Pay $0 for oil changes.. um.... PASS!
As far as the frame goes.. well.. technically the '08 and later has a different frame.. made using a different process or whatever, but completely interchangeable from what I understand.
If the '07 you are looking at has not had the frame inspection you could always insist on it prior to purchasing.. but I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker since Kawasaki would have to honor that recall no matter who owns the bike or how many owners it has traded hands between. Even if it was done and cracks later anyway.
If you know what to look for there is no reason to fear the frame recall. The inspection procedure is a snap and really only takes a few minutes for any half competent wrench. Personally, I'd look at the frame real close and if sound.. buy the bike, then later check & re-torque following the procedure. If you can't locate the procedure here.. just ask and I am sure we can dig it up. Keep in mind only a handful of bikes actually had busted frames... something like 15 or so last count I heard. I mean based on that number it's nearly impossible that this bike has or will have a cracked frame. Over 4400 miles, right? Look of course!
Honestly, no way I would trust some ass clown at a dealer to do the frame recall inspection/re-torque to my bike. It's easy but critical that it is done correctly. It's more important than most other simple nut tightening items on this bike. In fact, I'd redo the torque check even if I knew it had been done already on a used 06-07.
