I installed a full Two Brothers exhaust on my '09, no other mods. It ran fine, no downside compared to stock. Except the noise. After one year and about 10k miles, I took it off and put the stock system back on. I got tired of the noise even though I wear ear plugs all the time. Now I enjoy hearing the engine at "in town" speeds. BTW, I had the noise suppressor installed on the TB.

Hmm, I guess I'm a wierd one... I love the sound that the CTs make, even when it's cold or raining and I can't/won't ride, I still just start the bike just to hear the sound...

Wow you must be 100 years old or something. I can't imagine going back to stock after having full exhaust. I guess to each their own.

Well Grn14 - I don't really get the droning because I hardly ever ride on the street in stop and go traffic. Where I live you almost have to get on the freeway to go anywhere, so I blast up the on ramps at full song to listen to that wonderful CT soundtrack! The wind noise drounds out the droning on the highway, so it never becomes a problem for me! But I was noticing in one of your other posts that it looks like yur leaning back towards throwing ur mods back on eh???

I might...not sure just yet.I got another updated map from Brock.I loaded it into the PCV(which is not hooked up on my bike(yet))I ALMOST went out last night and put everything back on...the mods. But stopped myself.I ordered a sound reducer for the system...IDK if or how well it will 'take the edge off' the sound.3-5 decibels..that's what Steve said at Brock's.I've NO idea how much 3-5 is gonna be any different. It doesn't sound like much...but maybe?

I'm a bit leery about throwing all that stuff back on(right now)...The exhaust mods and all do give the bike a quicker performance....yes...BUT...I'm not on a racetrack...I'm not convinced that I really need to have a 'quicker' 14R.IF the muffler wasn't sounding like a race bike...it would be a no brainer.Unfortunately,it soundwise reveals EVERY throttle opening, every take off...every change in velocity.Clearly.That's not the best thing here when you're trying to really rip through the curves and all and you have this 'megaphone' shouting to everyone'HEY>>>>It's ME!!!!!!!"...Bad enough these folks living off the highways here get a yearly dose of loud Harley pipes basically ruining their peaceful afternoons. My stock pipes are mellow and non-agressive sounding, even when acellerating.Having a brightish Green SPORTBIKE...with 'abrasively' loudish pipes just is 'uncomfortable' for me.I don't like the idea of being some sort of unliked biker riding around here. And these roads and all....I ride em all the time...even at night after work....when it's like...REALLY QUIET.That's what's holding me back from reinstalling.Performance-wise...they're an excellent choice...they are.IDK....we'll see.

I tried to do a comparo(from memory)..between the two systems. There is a noticeable difference when going into like passing mode,or hard throttling up while riding....roll ons...stuff like that. The exhaust seems to allow the bike to be more responsive...you guys know what I mean. But overall...do I really NEED that amount of 'performance'?Honestly...a downshift and gas gets virtually the same result stock.Seriously.If you were on a track somewhere, and you needed to blast from corner to corner as quickly as possible...then...ya....but I don't.I'm not trying to break lap times! She runs fine without the piping and stuff.Plenty quick and responsive with that Guhl flashed ECU in there.

It's 'bad enough' having a bike with this much power and torque keeping tires on her.I'm already on my second tire....front's being replaced next week as well.I'd like to do some 'experimenting' with the new rear AND front to see just how much I can get with this baby.Having the slipper and Ktrc.It should actually increase tire life I'm thinkin...

I'm stayin out of the wheely arena...the rippin takeoffs and stuff...for now.I aint givin up on my fast carving though...no way. This bike begs to be ridden fast and hard...gotta say...she's a champion fer sure.

Hey Willie---when you get back, looking forward to meeting you since we are neighbors. It's gonna be a long wait for these CT Duals-(mid June), so you will be doing me a huge favor by letting me drool over yours till they come in:)
Also not sure if you ever take the little ride out through Justin-Ponder-Krum-Forestburg-St Jo etc but there are some nice newly paved roads out that way to get in some fairly aggressive riding, with nice sweepers etc. I hit that most Sunday mornings and do about a 200 mile loop before heading back to Mid Cities. It would be fun to ride it with you sometime. You can ride the 14R BTW and see what you think. I'm not sure it's been an altogether good thing to have this much time to wait on these pipes with the various map discussions, (new street maps, some low rpm hunting issues etc.), but sounds like Brock has already made a new map to address that. I have to admit, it would have been better to just install the pipes and the PC5 vs reading about various issues for 6 weeks:)

Grn--I'll be VERY interested to hear if you put your stuff back on with the NEW street map. One of the things that had you most concerned was the low end stumble/surge etc. This is supposed to really help if not eliminate that. The puzzling thing is, several 14R owners don't seem to have any issues with the current street map. But there are also a lot of folks who find the entire CT system to be a relatively quiet pipe too, so there you go:) I still have till mid june till I get my duals but already have the PC5 with the orginial street map. Sometimes I think I need to step away from the forum threads re: these mod's...too much pre install info flying around:) Have to say I rode my 14R to work today and there is something to be said for that nice stock silence and smooth fuel delivery. For me though I'm sure I could never leave it like that. It doesn't seem to give the bike the soul it deserves. Maybe if I had two of them I'd could leave one stock, but I have my BMW K1600 for the strong but quiet smooth tourer:)

Ya...Brock's team there sent all the new owners a map file to correct the deal.I read where it DID in fact correct it....and the last words to me from Steve was......"enjoy your new street map"....with an exclamation point after it...so that tells me...it's a ripper and probably excellently smooth.I wouldn't worry at all there Jag...you have a really nice exhaust coming. The DUALS ARE 'supposed' to be a bit more ear friendly. That's what guys are sayin anyway.Looking back...I probably should have gone dual....I still could get the 'quiet core' muffler for mine...but...not right now. We'll see.Probably will up ahead.
