Well guys the deal is off ..I will not be getting a wooly flashing unit

This is not good news.

.A friend of my got one off Ebay for 385.00 shipped to his door and is going to let me keep it at my shop and use .

Same as owning it,,almost ?

Wooly was going to charge me 462.90 ..And he said that was a 15% discount ? Really ?

Much more than that if you purchase binfiles for all year ZX-14's.

Lee may be you could just purchase the bike harness to make use of your friends hardware(40 dollars). Sit track side with your lap top installing two maps at a time in high low would be a quick way to narrow down what works.

Much faster than pulling ECU every time.

Dynojet:
* Allows +/- 20 degrees of timing adj
* Adj fuel/timing per cylinder
* Adj fuel/timing per gear
* Raise rev limit
* Adj fuel/timing based on temp or boost inputs
* Built-in launch limiter
* Pit lane limiter
* Autotune available for real-time adjustments while riding.
* Quick shifter
* AFR meter

The PC is sneaking in on the Wooly.

$75 still seems like a smokin deal in comparison to Guhl and Ivan, looks like they do everything in this flash that Guhl does in theirs. Why does Ivan's even use a power commander? Why not change the fueling in the stock computer? I had a woolich box for my B-King, change whatever you want in there, and the box was $200

Well good news , seems wooly ( Justin ) and me were on different pages and had a misunderstanding about what I ordered .. Kind of my fault because I didn't really know what I needed ..Anyway the flash kit is on its way to me .. Like the rest of you I'm wanting to see what really can be done with this tool ..Not having to run a P/C makes me very happy .. I look at P/C as a patch to fix a tuning problem , where as flashing the ECU is not a patch but a true and much finer tune than a P/C could very be .. A P/C does nothing but change the message sent for the ECU to the injectors ..Kind of like the NSA on your phone line while calling your girl friend ..That can't be a good thing .. :) Since I have a data logger I'll be able to refine a pump gas map and E85 map in real time at the track.. Dyno's are great place to start but we all know what counts is when the rubber hits the road ..I'd like to work with Romans on this and share our info to find the best possible Mapping for track speed and drivability .. What do you think Romans , you up for it ?

I don't know? Maybe you guys are missing it? That accel mode from the aftmkt, be it pc or pot turns, that's like an accelerator pump out of the corners. Accel pump is a rich/safe setting. Accel is low end [wheel spinning] torque. Until Justin finds the accel bins, or the real time map flapping those cell numbers off and on... it's back to the PC. Yes, no?

Dr, My guess is Ivan uses the pc for extra smoothing. Right, Ivan?

Hub,,, I had to rub the sleep out of my eyes and read this twice,,,, Almost sounds like you are liking the Pig-E. This is so unlike you. I need to see some ID lol. But ya I get it.

There is no doubt with all you listed above you could make a sweet tune, just not as refined. Without Dyno Jet and the SB6 my turbo bike would be have been in a thousand pieces of that you can be sure. Pig-E's have there place and I'm not ready to toss them out the window just yet. But,

Once Woolich gets us Auto Tune Real time in the ECU,,,,, Soooon I hope.

Most assuredly.

Oh no, I've piggy'd way back in '06 with a Dobeck. I know about keeping the stock map, layer a ping over it sorta speak, that is to say, richen it up. And to play with the accel mode, I could pull over, pull out the tiny screwdriver I mounted off the unit, watch the throttle WOT to a tasty 11.?:1 AFR. Bury the AFR needle into the 10:1 AFR range, back it into the 12:1 squirt. Stock, she plunges into 13:1 AFR.

So the Dobeck goes right back on for the accel option. Now, if you want to make a package deal with dynojet, we all upgrade to a full package? Every box needed to plug in? I'd love to run 4 02's but I'd settle for 2 AFR meters. See how we could burn those 4 cylinders individually, we could watch the AFR's off them?

RE: Schnitz ECU Reflash $75

Sent my ECU last Monday, received it Thursday. Talked to Ryan on the phone, he is a cool guy. He explained what it was going to do etc but for $75 I didn't want to use too much of his time lol

I went on a long ride on the back road yesterday. 1st is nice and smooth, 2nd gear was already pretty good but is a tad better, third gear is a monster (nice little wheelie and head shake at 8000 RPM). Bike is running great and is smoother at 1500 RPM. The best improvement is the red line. I think stock is in actuality 10800 RPM, being able to go to 11500 is awesome. Especially when racing 1000's. I wasn't courageous enough to verify the speed limiter had been removed. For $75, is the best bang for your buck mod! Last time I checked a speedo healer costs more. lol

For a second generation, I would have done more research to determine who has the best the flash since there is so much to gain from it. However, having an 06 and close to 30k miles, this is a no brainer. I'm glad I waited at one point I was ready to get one for $375.

I can't wait for some cooler weather so I can get on the dyno! Last year, I got 178hp-101TQ with the duals in the Texan heat. I was still making power after red line so my tuner advised to raise it 200-300 RPM. Let's see what happens with the single and a flash!

One such purchase was a PAIR knock off OAKLEY sunglasses.
When i got them the optical quality was so bad you could NOT see through them.
I wanted to return them .... They just NEVER responded.
And no recourse with the credit card company.
So I NOW NEVER ANYTHING FROM CHINA.....PERIOD!!!

I posted this on another forum so sorry for those that are on zx114r too. I got my Schnitz flash back today and hooked the ECU back up and things went down hill quickly. ABS light on, KTRC light on, power mode blank and flashing, ktrc setting blank and flashing and no engine start up.

Hopefully I will actually get to talk to Ryan Monday and get to the bottom of this.

Just do this simple move. Remove the ECU from its connectors, say, 'I will not listen to turtle' 3 times, click your heels 4 times and plug it back in. Turn the key on and what happens next is all in your hands, it can't get any worse, right?

Signed,

ROM it starts with no blinking codes. And for sure no guarantee on this end.

Again, nothing to loose. Turn the key on with the ECU connected. No need to start, just let the key stay on and see if it pings itself off. Then, turn it off, turn it back on, wait for the ping. About a 5 second wait between keyfobs. 3rd fob, holy fob bat guano, you pee yes, you've done it again Ollie!

UGH! So sorry to be reading this.

I assume check engine light is on ? Could you please let us know the # On the ECU. A picture would be nice. Also, when Ryan makes the purchase for a new ECU I would like the old ECU if you're aloud to keep it. If I can fix it you can have it back. Free of course.

I'm sorry to hear anyone having issues but in my eperience you get what you pay for.
$75 for a flash compared to what the experienced and proven guys charge and now there are problems?
Unfortunately hardly surprising.
We all want to get the best deal possible and save cash, but the fact is genuine quality products and services cost money.
Pay the money and get quality. Go the cheap option and run high risk of disappointment.
False value in my books.

Romans, yes the check engine light is on too, will get the number for you when I'm home. That is a truly nice offer of you, thank you very much.

Yannih, Schnitz is not some guy in his mom's basement with a laptop. There is no reason that the cost should have been a clue that something is going to go wrong.
